It's a sequel.
It takes place one year after the events of the original. Billy has graduated from high school, been stuck in basic hero bootcamp for a year, starts with some basic powers which he presumably carried over from the original, and is starting college.
He does have to rebuild all of his relationships, since he's been gone a year and lost touch and life went on without him, but otherwise, everything is a continuation.
Dont think I ever actually finished the original. I played it. Guess I somehow failed to trigger the ending.

Still, why don't any of them remember the sexual relationships then? Did they somehow get memory wiped?

Before I sink in the game? what happened and why is this game, a sequel so bad? It has 1.2 star rating and not active players

1) the dev suddenly decided to end the superpowered storyline and start a new one with a new engine. apparently he hated to code on the old one. and also started another game. to prevent "burnout" as he says.
2) the UI and game mechanics are objectively worse than the one in superpowered. I don't know what the thought process was here. the UI is hideous and unresponsive, and the dice system and loadout system is clunky. oh and the grind is back so yeah...
3) models are a mixed bag. some are ok some are meh. billy still looks horrific but whateve
4) with how slow updates come, it's not an exaggeration that it would take at least several years to even get to the same level as superpowered as we really only get 4 updates per YEAR assuming nothing goes wrong. it gives people the feeling that the dev is milking it, since this is like the 3rd time superpowered was rebooted.

there's really not that much content yet, so we'll have to wait. we'll be unironically getting GTA6 before this thing comes out. no joke. I started playing this game when I was still in school. I'm about to literally finish my doctorate, and this thing ain't even halfway finished. I'll still follow the development since this game pushed all my buttons, but I ain't really holding high hopes for it.

the 60 points cap is honestly bullshit anyone make a mod to add like 200 points?
CheatEngine work well with this game for that, it work with everything but the problem is that the variance are more or less encrypted so using a table is useless: they change everytime you load or leave and return to the game.

I dont think he has abandoned it, more likely he is just focusing on Loser and coming back to it once he has figured out whatever it is thats troubling him about this game and what updates to do etc.

In a nutshell...
Loser was his first Unity project (because by the time he started it he'd figured out that Renpy is horrible for the complex sort of games he enjoys making).
SP1 got dropped a bit short of where he'd planned on finishing it because trying to make Renpy do stuff it was never meant to do was driving him up a wall.
SP2 starts in Unity.
He realized he's learned alot about Unity and has spent the past 2 cycles on Loser massively overhauling the code. (Ie, fixing his 'rookie mistakes')
But that overhaul's been a bit time consuming, so, the last Loser cycle took alot longer then usual. But... now it's got a much better save system, overhauled the UI, a lot of other QoL improvements, etc.
Loser's next release is in bug testing now.
So SP2 should be starting up again soon (if it hasn't already).

PS...
How TF did this thread get the 'abandoned' tag???
It's been 5 or so months since the last update. I thought F95 rule was 12 or 13 months?
And Baal streams his work 6 days a week on his Discord.
Anyone that's paying even a little attention can easily check in on his progress.

Perhaps its because baal has 'abandoned' it temporarily in terms of giving out releases untill he is 'satisfied' with the new coding added to the ui in loser etc and want to transfer it to superpowered then bug-hunt etc with that?... I mean why do an UI big fix etc with 2 games if you can just port it from 1 game to another? or port the game images etc to the new ui/codings.

Join the party. I started playing the original at 22, I'm now just a year off 30.
