You're welcome. But there's no need for money; the game is posted for free!
Congrats on your first completed game. it reminds me of a more polished version of Katie's corruption which was one of my first F95 games.

It may have been asked before but what are your plans going forward from here?

Really nice game, hopefully you will make others ^^. On a side note why do all developpers have to put an ugly fat weinstein in their game, forced me to dodge the scene out of disgust anything else would be fine and i would really like to see the scene but that judge is just to disgusting.

Going through it again to see if I missed something it dawned on me just how lacking the ending is for anyone having an Eve play through.

I only ever did one thing at the start that wasn't with Eve and that was forced no matter what I picked, everything else was with her alone, never touched another guy.

I got the job as the "diverse hire", her aunt thought we were together, everyone else thought we were together yet at the end it seems to be dropped and after the pictures are taken she's barely mentioned.

The only other downside to that route was the denial ever single time that she was a lesbian, that should have been dropped after the first or second time. It was obvious she loved it and the constant denial did start to come across as whiny (as I mentioned before).

Aside from that and a few personal issues with things everything else was great. The lesbian scenes were well done and I enjoyed them.

I was harsh in the review that got deleted but I do stand by most of what I said. I hated the forced bit at the start, I hate any game that forces shit like that when choices are given. No matter what you pick it happens, just remove the choice.

My one mahoosive complaint isn't just this game it's a running trope in all these kind of games and that's every single guy trying to blackmail or fuck these young girls are all old, sleazy, fat in some cases, degenerate ugly fucks.

Having the lesbian route with a pretty gorgeous character was something you don't see so, having stepped back and looking at it more objectively, I will admit I was wrong about it being a shitty generic corruption clone. @fitgirlbestgirl was right to call me out on it, I did go overboard.

I don't know, I had hopes it would be better than others but the start let me down and while I do stand by some of it the Eve route was (aside from the whiny complaints) really good. I have to admit I enjoyed it I just wish the ending would have included them together in some way.

Thanks for sharing your completed work, I grew to like this VN and it stands on its own regardless of your inspiration for this game. Also congratulations on this as it is quite good.

Thank you @Ryder77

I learned a new word today.

I agree completely. The lesbians were all fine as hell and the guys, without exception, were disgusting. I initially played it because the game reminded me of Katie's Corruption, which I liked, but none of the men in KC were that skeevy. Yeesh. Eve is a psychopath and although I'm really not into the lesbian thing I found that at least dealing with her doesn't require eye bleach. The game needs an ending where you and Eve ride off into the sunset together after burning the law firm to the ground.

Eh?

It IS a f*cking generic corruption clone, that I wouldn't qualify as shitty because there obviously went some work into it and actually resembles something written in proper English for once, but the game largely remains the brainchild of an author who tries REAL (too?) hard to make his readers believe that anything in the story is remotely related to the buddying career of a lawyer apprentice in some real-life law firm. The characters evolving in this fantasy land of chuckle-inducing proportions couldn't be more generic, clichéd and even outright ridiculous, but hey, it's a porn game, so let's just pretend that through the rosey glasses of someone who just wants a quick fap (squirt?) the writing actually shows some scenaristic quality, right ?

Since most people seem to appreciate the game, and I already largely said my piece about the story (hint: it's garbage from the introduction till the end, it's so bad it almost seems like a conscious prank from the author), I feel at peace about leaving it at that.

No, what I'm genuinely surprised about is that as a (self-proclaimed) lesbian you seem to satisfy yourself quite easily with how poorly "diversity" is portrayed in the game. Since the author makes it a point for the context and story to match a real life scenario as closely as possible, in which the MC has to constantly feel ashamed to be of a "lesser station" for enjoying herself sexually or to succeed professionally, I almost could smell a cognitive dissonance there.

Your quite vocal community used to show more opinionated and defensive for less than that, at least at times where they felt that public explanations were in order. Did I miss something?

If anyone's interested, here are a few thoughts about the creation of Descent.

In total, the game took me about 14 or 15 months to create, working on and off. This was the first time I had ever used Renpy and DAZ, so the learning curve definitely slowed down the process somewhat. By far, the most time-consuming aspect of the project was the rendering. Each of the fully rendered scenes took anywhere between 30 - 90 minutes to render, and sometimes had to be redone due to errors I failed to catch before starting.

The game took about six weeks to post in its entirety. I made two significant changes based on player comments once I started posting. The first was to add an additional option during the scene at the end of chapter one. IMO, that was a good change. When I originally put the game together, I did not appreciate how problematic that scene would be in the context of being the only sex scene in chapter one and, initially, the only sex scene in the game. That change, IMO, improved the game.

The second significant change was to add an option to avoid the club scene with Eve and friends at the end of chapter six. I'm kind of "meh" about that one. I considered, and could have added, the ability to avoid more Eve content, but it became kind of complicated and, in the end, I decided that I didn't want to spend too much time providing ways to avoid content which I had already spent a lot of time creating.

Apart from that, the changes were relatively minor, just tweaking.

I greatly appreciated the thoughtful comments about the game, even the criticism.

On the whole, I was happy with how the project worked out. While some elements of the execution did not work out as well as I'd hoped (discussed below), I was generally satisfied with the end product. In other words, the game I originally envisioned when I started out is pretty close to the game I eventually created. The compromises were minimal.

So, what didn't work, IMO?

Obviously, the quality of the renders is not as good as it could have been. I did my best, but my "talents" as a visual artist are obviously lacking and my technical knowledge, and computer power, obviously fell short. I don't know what kind of computers are required to create the ultra high-quality renders and animations I see in some other games, but I know that I don't have one.

The use of music is something I wrestled with when creating the game. In the end, I went with very little in the way of music. There is one scene with source music (the club scene) and two scenes with an actual soundtrack (the Troll King and the epilogue). Maybe I could / should have done more, but the trouble with that is once you start incorporating a soundtrack, you're pretty much obliged to use it throughout. The music I did use was fun to create, but it would have added a lot of development time to write and record a complete soundtrack.

The other issue I really had trouble with was writing the MC. The supporting characters were all pretty clear to me, and I'm happy with how they turned out, but I went back and forth a lot on whether to develop the MC's internal thinking in certain directions. For example, a couple of people have posted that they would have preferred to see her develop more as a willing participant in the lesbian scenes. In the end, I went with a fairly neutral stance (ie. the MC never really developed any predilections prior to the epilogue). If I was doing the game all over, I think I would have had more options in which the MC developed inclinations and developed them as different paths to follow. But I'm not, so it is what it is.

Going forward, I have no plans to do another game of this nature. I do have an idea for something quite different, but no idea whether I will proceed with it. It requires more knowledge of python than I currently have.

Thanks to everyone who tried (and will try) the game, even if they didn't enjoy it.

Thanks. KC was definitely one of the inspirations for Descent. At this point, my plan is not to work on a game for a while. :) I do not intend to do another game of this sort, but I do have an idea for something quite different.

It is very difficult to find an unattractive DAZ model, male or female. I didn't want the judge to be a model, so the fat guy is what I went with.

I see your point. The only Eve endings, ie. where Christine ends up being with Eve...

If I'd thought of that, I would have added such an ending.

The no position Eve ending, with the relatively friendly version of Eve, is probably the closest to the ending you are looking for, as they end up together and Chris starts to like the relationship.

Great!

Yes, it is. And, you are correct, that is what this game is all about.

Having the lesbian route with a pretty gorgeous character was something you don't see so, having stepped back and looking at it more objectively, I will admit I was wrong about it being a shitty generic corruption clone. @fitgirlbestgirl was right to call me out on it, I did go overboard.
Yes, well, your initial review was not, if I'm being honest, entirely positive about the game. :)

I'm glad you found something to enjoy in it.

As indicated, play through, get either the really mean version of Eve, or the mean version of Eve, end up without a position at the firm, refuse all job offers at the new years eve party, and the MC will end up with Eve. :)

Thanks for the game. This is a good game, but I kinda pity for the MC.

Skeevier than the men in KC? Heh... I don't know about that. Her boss was pretty skeevy.

The no position / Eve ending is as close as you can get to the "riding off into the sunset" result you mention.

Did you miss something? Perhaps the part where different people like different things and, just because you don't enjoy something, that doesn't mean everyone should not enjoy something? Could that be what you missed?

This game title should be Ascend rather than Descent. The MC has to do whatever it takes to become a great lawyer. In which, all greatness require sacrifice. It does not matter what the choices the MC makes. She gets what she wants. So, Descent is = zzzzzzzzzzzzz. Side characters are generic as paint drying is fun to watch. Katie Corruption was willing to go all the way down to "descent" mode which is true to it purpose (NTR, BBC, hardcore corruption, prego, drugs, etc..)

That's one way to look at it, I suppose.

Yeah, KC was a lot more extreme in those respects. I was going for something a little less drastic.

Suggestions only, no need for salt.
If the next game is female protag & corruption is optional, go full HAM on it. Good girl gone bad, skip Glamour ( it belongs in the dumpster), Roundscape, etc...are good at making female route.
