they've posted images of mechanics they're working on but from what I remember they want to turn this ultimately into an action adventure type of game with combat mechanics and relationship mechanics, that sort of thing. Ideally I guess with the direction they want the game to go in you would either use a premade character or your own character maker made character and basically be put in an open world type of game with quests and what not.
I remember they put out a demo a while ago, only once and never expanded on it to my knowledge, where you basically played as max and it was like a proof of concept of a quest like system where Maya saved you from dying from exposure and what not and you talked with her and did some tasks for her like fetching fruit and such and ended with max getting ambushed by i think Kira or something by the waterfall.
You played as Maya and you gathered fruit for Max. You encountered a panther near the water and got a sex scene with Max at the end. It was quite a mess of a demo. I like to think they're working on gameplay and such behind the scenes, only showing the sex scene builds to the public because they're relatively easy to make at this point and they're crowd-pleasers.
They have a vertical slice planned for the end of the year if I'm not mistaken. I'm gonna be pessimistic about it and predict that it'll ship by next year. But either way, it should give a complete idea of what the finished game will be like.
I just hope they always keep a sandbox mode. I really don't care about quests like "gathering fruit" lol.

So i assume the build in the OP is the $10 build? Is there a $25 build too or not released yet?

10$ release is the final version in its best. Why would you need 25$ build if 10$ is a superior one?
One more time - 25$ build is done just for a beta testing. When 10$ version is released - it is a far better version than 25$ that used to be 2 weeks prior to 10$.
After 10$ is released, $25 and $10 versions on Patreon become basically the same version. Their difference is only in realease date, thats it.
Only $5 version has censor, higher than that are basically the same product.

Firstly, 10 $ build has more features than 25$ one. Such as new added animations, solved issues, fixed bugs etc.. So, the 25$ builds purpose is to test the game and detect issues, bugs and so. To conclude, 10$ builds are always the best.

Special note for group animations:
ALL of the party members must be at a close proximity to the player for the additional dialogue choice to appear.
Maya = all human females except Shey
Group-action animations:
Maya x Maya x Max
All six human males x Maya (or Shey)
Maya x Bol x Yason - (or Shey)
Maya x Kral x Rawn - (or Shey)
Maya x Goatman(2)
I think that's it right now. You would need to look at all of the past changelogs to see every animation available.

There is currently no homosexual content in the game yet. And I can't remember whether Steve has said that it will ever happen.
Use MegaDownloader. It seems to make downloading stuff from Mega easier. Just downloaded a 9gb file with it, even.
