I'm not really sure Patrons really get turned away from pledging, there are lots of dead games with huge pledge amounts still. So on the surface it does not seem that antipiracy is worth the effort. It's a funny beast sometimes.

It’s like you didn’t read anything I wrote ;)
Pirates reads only treasure maps:)
Like you are surprised that most people don't read?
BTW i hope you don't lose too many patrons because of bans.
Developers are free to do as they please with their games, just as we are free to take any links sent to us and share them anonymously after mirroring and making sure there are no malware or means for the developer to punish his patrons.
No dev can intentionaly put any kind of malware in the game he is producing and giving to his patrons.
If that ever happen the dev will be the one to get ban from Patreon. Not to mention all possible lawsuits.

this whole thing with devs trying to stop the piracy of their games is kinda funny. I'm willing to bet my erection that the exposure that sites like this one offer their games, overall makes them gain larger amount of patreons, opposed to the scenario where there was no exposure and no piracy. making a fuss about it, in my opinion, makes people more willing to spite you and share your releases than if you just ignore it. you ain't changing anyone's mind with tactics like these. who's willing to pledge, will pledge to support your work, who's not, just won't play your game if it's no longer available for free. I would think that actions like these might overall make you lose pledges, since people don't usually react well to the appearance of greed ( even if it is justified or not )

WARNING!!! To combat piracy (Sharing the download links to other websites), we have added a feature where every Patron is assigned with a unique download link. Also, once the game is downloaded, it has a unique identification number.
While i appreciate you sharing your game for free on here, as a programmer you made me quite curious with your claim... they way i see it you either
  • bluffed and didn't actually do anything
  • packed and uploaded the game manually multiple times just for the 25$ tier, which is a bit of a waste of time if you have more than a few patrons
  • ditched the usual hosts and made your own delivery network with automated fingerprinting in the archive... i hope you didn't actually do this as it would probably cost more than you could hope to gain in new patrons
  • uploaded a regular archive and used some kind of license file or code that you give separately to every patron
I'm gonna go with the last one considering you're already using codes to remove the ads and unlock extra content... either way, it's a lazy drm that can be bypassed and anonymized by any coder in about 20 seconds
Anyway, just a bit of speculation out of curiosity, i wouldn't actually ask someone for the file just to screw with you and your team

IncetonGames

Trying to understand your logic here.

Last month your team released SwM a2 with two very glitchy animations with texture popping or shader bugging; one of which did not even play in game.
You've done the same game for the 3rd time it should be glitch free as should the animations.
You also said that you were trying to release EoL last month and that didn't happen.

So both of your games have ads. EoL has hidden content codes and now has added some sort of unproven anti-piracy. Whoever posting on this account admits to being a pirate. But you still are trying to punish people giving you money that might share the game to scumbags like "us" that have no intention of buying it before seeing if it is worth it first.

Ads, codes, nagware, and threats basically only punish the people willing to pay for your game. They will most likely be bypassed elsewhere but will only put off people from being future donors.

Please use more common sense in the future because I do want your work to succeed.

Come on, stop crying already. If you can't afford to help a dev don't expect to have things on time or better, you get the free treatment, which is simple, time.
And if you are patreon and have a problem with the release, talk directly with the dev, that's your privilege..

It is also easier.
Some people here get together, paying $ 0.50 to $ 1 per person. And the $ 25 quickly comes together. Create a new Patreon account, support for $ 25. Download the game and upload it again. Share link. Finished

If the account is then "banned" it is not a big loss.
Of course not very nice but well.

You are clearly missing the point here. Nobody is crying about waiting a few more days to get the game, we are talking about the way Inceton presented the "solution" (ban threats, bad apples, pirate policy on f95, security system???)....

Do places like F95 help with exposure and ultimately more patrons for the developers? Maybe. The actual amount is unknown and likely exaggerated by people here to add some silver lining to them being thieves and thinking they're doing the devs a favor or something.

Why is there a problem with just respecting the developer, the industry, and the content enough to just wait a few days or a week so they can maximize sales though?

I mean, it's not like previous updates aren't released for free with pretty much all of these games. The dev here even said he would post it himself here after a few days even. You aren't helping with exposure when you post latest versions of games the day they release. It's basically saying fuck you to the devs face and we don't care about your shit or life for that matter.

It's one thing to post dev updates, teaser images, etc, but you could at least wait a few days or a week on the actual update. Let them try and maximize what they can during that time. If I knew who the patron was who was leaking updates as soon as they release I'd ban them also, because frankly I wouldn't want them as one of my supporters when they're actively hurting me, and they sure as hell know what they're doing.

It does hurt when you post it immediately. People do unsubscribe because pirate versions are up so fast. I've seen it and been told that from Patreon surveys you get when you unsub. People refund things on Steam because they get posted online the day of. And you're fooling yourself if you think there aren't plenty of people out there who'd be willing to buy something, but say instead lets wait a bit and see if it gets posted soon on so and so site.

You're actively kill the porn game industry when you have no respect to the content creators or the industry when you can't fucking wait a few days to a week before sharing it all over the place. And why do you do this? For fucking clout and likes on forums like this one...

It's amazing how many people refuse to even support creators with even just one fucking dollar. People consume more porn than pretty much any other entertainment out there, yet some how porn isn't worth paying for because there's so much free content out there.

I have a problem with the way he is saying he will fight the leaking. He practicaly is saying that he can spy on his patrons.
What can guarantee me that he won't get some personal information and use it for something else?
Because of that he just lost me as patron.

In ep6 we got teased with blowjob bet with big sis and after that for two updates in a row we get introduced to some shitty side characters instead. This is real lame stuff. Scenes with those side pieces barely even feel exciting because we just met them in those updates. I dont mean to say that I want shitloads of pretentious build up with side characters but at least introduce them earlier and let us get to know them a bit before throwing those sex scenes with them. Right now those scenes just feel like they are there to fill the space and delay the content with main characters.

Developer had some great ideas about side characters, like sex shop girl blowing you while you watch your sis is hot concept. But because we just met her and because just before that you got teased with something much better(bj with big sis, after all content with main characters is why majority of us play this game) that potentially very very hot scene with sex shop girl feels annoying and wasted. Same for new side character from this update.

I understand developers trying to limit the pirating/leaking of their games, but I don't think they realize that a lot of their support, perhaps even a majority of it, came from people pirating the game. Thats why developers have accounts on here, a lot of them posted their games themselves. To interact with and gain more fans. People don't have to be a patron to support the game, "like" the thread, leave a good review, put the game in their signature and all sorts of things that help the game in one way or another. This website is just as much of a fan site as it is a piracy site.

People pirate the games first, then if they like it enough they'll become a patreon supporter. Stopping the pirating isn't going to make people become a patron. Those people who liked the game but didn't like it enough to become a patron in the first place are just going to stop playing it, not become a patron. People who pirated the game and became a patron aren't going to leave because it gets leaked, it being leaked is probably why they decided to be a patron in the first place.
