Thanks for the feedback jessicajones I agree with some of the things you wrote and don't agree with others xD anyway there is a plan for "extras" after the game is done (Main story) Having extra scenes and extra travel options are part of it, I may even remove some things. Thanks for playing, I'll keep doing my best for this game.

Apparently we need a boss damage dice.

I also like that Resistance thing, but I don't think it'd be balanced if they were immune. But I do think that it should be harder to pull off a Fear on Gluttony when he's in raging hunger mode. Stunned would still be ok, frozen should be more universal.

My impression was that deciding to take the leap of fate and be the last one standing was the pivoting
moment of the final boss fight - MC gets the courrage to oppose the villain long enough for his peers to escape.

Once the protagonist is determined to go all in, it is irrelevant which spell does what.

This is just good enough ... if it is a big health on a boss, sure enough small damage spells
only mean they will wear you down faster than you would defeat them and you would lose.

Be mindful that a great power was awakened by the archon lady that you do not understand yet.
Also take in consideration every other peer of yours suggested to flee and you only stood behind
to keep the villain busy to allow others to escape.

So the element of surprise and bewilderment should still be there,
otherwise Mc and his peers would already be gone by the time Mc
gets the revelations to actually fight the devil and have faith in winning.

That is pretty shortsighted. Combat doesn't matter? Spells don't matter? This fight was very important in the game. The protagonist can win the fight so it does matter.

I disagree with your first paragraph. I agree with your last two.

Gluttony didn't come close to defeating me. He wasn't doing enough damage to make a large impact and I was able to keep him locked up and unable to attack 66% of the time with my spells (stuns, freeze, fear, etc.). That is why I made the recommendations I did - make Gluttony do more damage and have a greater chance of resisting spell effects (stuns, freeze, fear, etc.). That would make it a closer fight and truer to the power of fighting a devil. The main challenge with my fight with gluttony was wearing down his huge health pool and keeping my MPs up. I was never in danger of dying due to low health.

I love a challenge when it comes to combat. I wouldn't mind having a 50% chance of losing because the encounter was so difficult. If players had to reload and try again a few times that would be awesome in my opinion. Gluttony is a major boss that the player fights directly and doesn't run from.

For those moments there is a "Skip battle" button, the most powerful spell of them all. Well, second most powerful after the spell that gets rid of clothes

Resistances do sound fun. Fear immunity actually gives you a reason to use "Phantom Terrain" on Illusion based builds because right now it's a 40% chance of casting two "Fear" spells for the price of 3
EDIT: To receive more damage, you can just do the same stuff you do with Gokthian Elite training for Gluttony

Good point. The Gokthian Elite that you can battle in the mage college training grounds does more damage than gluttony.

There are plenty of ways to lose in the game (getting a "Game Over") but not really with combat so far. The gluttony battle (aside from his huge health pool) was too easy in my book. I was expecting to get my ass handed to me with a slim chance of success.

You'll notice that no one on this forum is talking about "How do I defeat Gluttony?" or "Here is a guide for defeating Gluttony". The fact that no one is talking about this is a strong indicator that the encounter needs to be more challenging. That is my opinion anyway.

This is one of the best games on this site and the game only really needs a small amount of tuning to be a true masterpiece.

The gluttony fight was intimidating and well hinted at, to be sure. Look, I for one liked it, and I played it several times (only later realizing that you can use Smite from the healing school of magic to deal good crits on it as it's supper effective), and idk what you can do to make it more challenging.

I think it's fine as it is, because the alternative of conveying how powerful this devil can be vs how weak the MC is, is to have a scripted "one shot" a-la Lich King battle where he wipes the raid. And while some may prefer that, I think it takes away from the agency of the player and would make it feel less impactful. You can uptune the damage he deals, if you want, but you have to be careful anyway since the +25 Hp stat increase from Ayna isn't gonna count for a lot if it ends up being 1 attack from him.

The +25 HP and +25 MP gain from Anya happens earlier in the story. The red crystal that the MC absorbed has a mind of it's own and forces it's power on the player giving +300 HP, +300 MP, and a good boost to all magic skills.

Personally, I would have preferred the game giving me a choice as to accepting the power or resisting. Resisting would have made the fight very difficult but also a much bigger accomplishment.

I personally would have also preferred having a choice as whether or not to flee with the others, or to stay and fight gluttony on my own. If the player chose to flee, it would end in 'game over' as the college would have been overrun.

Both choices were forced on the player.

So if the player had the option of resisting the red crystal and not accepting the power boost from it, then I agree, nothing really needs to change. With the power boost from the red crystal, the fight with gluttony was too easy, even though it took a long time to wear down his HPs.

Don't get me wrong, I liked the gluttony encounter. Gluttony was very scary and intimidating! I just thought gluttony should have been more powerful for a devil and put up a better fight.

Not everyone likes a challenge though so I can see your viewpoint.

Well that's the thing, the bonuses don't kick in until a certain threshhold in the fight. if I play my cards right I'm fairly sure I can finish the fight without being hit, using a mixture of reflect back dmg + ward for mana. What does that even do for damage number balance or my own HP? Absolutely nothing.

The choice of resisting the stone is something I would've done as well, if presented with the opportunity, but something tells me it's just a necessity in order to further the plot and do some well-awaited reveals.

Not entirely true. The bonuses to magic skills increase your overall damage. I noticed that all my spells did more damage once the red crystal kicked in and boosted my magic skills. This resulted in a shorter and easier fight.

What I wish would have happened is being given the choice to resist the red crystal but not the choice to absorb gluttony so the result would have been the same anyway, except the fight would have been harder without the boost. The player wasn't given the choice to absorb gluttony anyway so it wouldn't have impacted the story in my opinion. This way it is kind of like a difficulty setting - resist the crystal = harder fight; accept the crystal's boost in power = easier fight.
