Well, the scientific stuff thrown in there surely is interesting given that I am prone to be mildly interested in almost anything I don't know or understand. However, the question of the thread focuses in the futa genre in hentai and it's huge success, being much more popular than many other "taboo" things. I feel this is kind of an easy question to answer in my eyes. Let's take a look at a classic "futa" hentia show...Bible Black. Honestly, I don't think it is, although it's possible that it might be overrepresented for devs, not sure. Most guys are straight. Most women are straight. I'm not denying there's a niche for it but I don't think there's much crossover for people who have more mainstream tastes.

I don't remember what the statistics are on gays/lesbians as a percentage of the population. I think last I heard it was estimated in the 5-10% range. I also think lesbian content is more popular in general because a signficant percentage of both straight guys and straight women like it. I don't think the same is true of gay content. Don't know why, but I've seen many people on the deffensive regarding this matter, like the very question was unconfortable to ask. In my case, I asked people why is futa so popular out of curiosity. Why is bestiality/incest/rape/loli popular is a good question, too, but maybe you could ask it instead of telling other to ask it (I genuinely don't know if those subjects have been raised here before, because I don't frequent the threads, I only read this one and some about the games I'm interested). I don't care that people like futa, good for them, I'm not questioning the very foundation by which they like a particular theme, I'm simply curious as to why is particularly futa so overwhelmingly popular. In this regard, I'm already satisfied with the answers I got. So, perhaps, you could read through the thread and see for yourself the answers that people have come up with to put it into words. Well, i'm not particulary a fan of futa, but i rode some futa doujinshis for curiosity, and it isn't as weird as it seems
