When I played this a few patches ago it felt like there was hardly any content, and the whole prologue>remake thing never really made sense. Has this developed to the point of being worth a reinstall? Also, I see 2 different mods available for the game, one by Qleaf and one by 0x52. Has anyone used both, and would you recommend one over the other?

Edit note: last version I played was 0.3.2a
So I ask the same question again: I have tried playing this game in the past and the plot felt disjointed and like it could never figure out where it wanted to take the story. You bounce around between a few disposable chicks while you wait for win with sis. Plus there was the prologue that seemed to tell the same story...? Shit felt like a proof of concept and not like a game that's been in production for almost 3 years.

Has the game become more structured and cohesive, rather than a collection of loosely related scenes? Worth playing at present or should folks shelve it for a few updates hoping for improvement?

Just extract the \bin folder into your regular game folder and ignore the rest of the launcher stuff; you don't need it.

That's it. (y) (y)

Guys, my advice is:

1) Unzip the last update, then keep the bin folder inside TheAwakeningLauncher/bin and throw away everything else

2) rename the bin folder - call it wahtever you want

3) run your Windows Firewall Advanced Security Defender and create a new outbound rule for game/TheAwakening.exe

Does anybody know what the launcher for? I deleted it except for the bin map. The game works fine.

Not sure what the launcher is all about, I just played the exe from the bin folder like a normal Ren'Py game.

Has anyone come to a conclusion as to why dev decided to add a launcher of little utility/purpose? I haven't seen any new major features or anything that might call for it.

Since this is no longer ren'py it is going in the trash. Too bad I really liked this one...

All the patches & mods are no longer compatible since this game changed to a different crappy bloatware engine.
It's still a Ren'Py game, I have no clue why this version came with a launcher, but if you look inside the "bin" folder , you'll find the same set of folders as it was originally.

My guess would be a possible web version, or the ability to download new updates through the patcher only.

I have my PC crashing after a few minutes,
I put the contents of the bin file (everything that belongs to RenPy) into the previous version and it works
