Edit 27.12.2020: I think that i give up this mod because since this version (0.4a) the patch didn´t work create and i don´t have the time to wrote a other mod methode to replace the complete text lines every new version comes out.

Since gigan (unfortunately) seems to have thrown in the towel on this, are there any other alternatives? If not, the corresponding tag really ought to be removed.

Just use the 4a patch, I had to add one line to it since it didn't patch housemate? but you can do it yourself just add the like to the text file:
t = t.replace("housemate?", "brother?")

You may need to start the game quit and start again for it to update.
And pretty much you can use this line and change any word you don't like to one you like yourself its easy.
