Lets call it h game devs than...
We have some heroes like NLT and few others but most of the games here looks horrible or get abandoned or fraudsters which games look good but they aren't reliable like Icstor, psychodelusional, Gumdrop, MrZZ ect...
Big problem is that patreon's & subscribestar's monthly subscription model can be used by anyone.

Every model has up- and downsides. Patreon enables people to start something and without it many really good games probably wouldn't exist in the first place.

In the end it's mostly up to the patrons to care for their own money, sadly many of them don't do it the way they should.

Maybe the solution will be a strike system like youtube has if someone isn't reliable he gets a strike and if he receive 3 his page will be downgraded & from than he can only use pay per build model.

I think the problems are way too individual for patreon to regulate them properly. Especially since pay per build can be abused easily, too. That's how some, at least what I'd consider, "actual scammers" actually do it right now. They present one or two real updates and then start to release totally minor patches/updates with almost no content while they pretend to work hard.

Which of the prominent scammers do have such a strategy ?
Icstor did release only 2 updates in 3 years.
Psychodelusional dumped a 5 min demo in 2 years.
Gumdrop didn't do shit for 4 years.
Even if they would abuse the pay per build system nevertheless something would be published at least once a month even a tiny update, some work.
But how it is now makes possible to release 1 or 2 updates make people additcted and then go full scam mode without communcation.

I was indeed talking about smaller ones, like era hunter for example.

With these bigger games where nothing happens it's really mainly on their patrons to stop giving money. If someone is that dense to keep giving money after so many months/years they simply deserve to be ripped off. I personally have zero sympathy with either side in these cases.

The problem is that other developers notice that and then also go this way because they think "hey why should i do anythingthe money just continues to flow with lies so lets go scam mode aswell".
And potential supporters stop trusting future reliable devs.

I don't see it as that big of a problem to be honest. If you care a little bit about the game you support, you'll notice pretty quickly if something is wrong or not. Adapting/canceling a pledge on patreon takes like 5 seconds and if people can't even do that, I still think it's on them.

Else I'd simply say that there's no way that patreon would cut off it's own revenue by canceling pledges that way if they don't have to - so it's only a very, very hypothetical discussion anyway.

I completely forgot about this. It had some promise, but like so many other dev's, he's just disappeared. It'll be one year this time tomorrow (September 28) since his last update.

Guess it's time to slap an abandoned tag on this game.

While the graphics are decent and promising, the game itself is a cheap rip-off from another game found here (not allowed to mention which). Sadly this includes the layout of the rooms and the whole city.
There does not seem to be a clear line to follow on what to do yet and the english needs some serious overhaul, but if the developer gets away from copying and finds his own path, this might become something.

I think the game has a bug. Whether I'm playing an older save or starting a new game, i can no longer play with the male character from the older saves or choose a male character from the beginning of the game.

I've just given this game a try, thinking I could choose futa protag, but there's no choice given at all. Maybe there's a changelog somewhere that says when it was changed to be female-only?

No, the game now is futa protag only.

There is no way to change it via interface, but I'm sure there is a way to change it with code files, same as censorship.

So the dev decided to drop the game and the fans by removing the male protagonist and infecting the female protagonist with a dick? He should remove the gender choice picture from the previews, pretty pointless to lure people with such a lie.
