Even he would struggle to argue that one. the man sucks ass at league.
Originally we wanted to have a female option for our main character with the same companions, but we just couldn't make it happen resource-wise. All of our lewd scenes would have needed redrawing even if we went with a "strap-on" you still need to redraw all the art and rig it again for the main character.
Now to do a version of the game with male companions and love interest would be just... yeah it would be cool to do so but there's no way to do it without us taking 2-4x more time and effort. While it would be cool, it is literally impossible for our team.

You can always skip combat, and it doesn't affect any options you have in the story.Goddamit my computer is too weak to play this game even in medium settings. Also I can't even get past the first level. I have no idea how the combat works.
Is the combat still not balanced? The 3 skeletons on by the giant stone face really wreck my shit with how fast and often they stack weakness.

It's a bit RNG based. With some luck they don't deal big damage and sometimes it's unfair.
You move them from your inventory to the item use in combat boxes. You only have one in the beginning and need to unlock more with one skillpoint each.
When it's your turn just click on the items displayed on the screen and use them on your character.
How do I make the story advance?
So far I only found a few quests, I only recruited the dark/island elf, the orc, and the snake girl. I also did a few quests with girls I couldn't recruit (dragon girl, Kobold but I don't know how to advance after finding her in your room, blacksmith).
I also found various girls on the map like the apprentice alchemist but they don't seem to trigger anything.
And sorry, I'm bad with names and it's been a while since I played.

It's been some months since I last played, so not sure if any major chaneges in combat were made, but I've played the game from start many times and usually just brute force the combats by aiming on the enemy's head until it bleeds, then I go for their arms. Rarely I would lose, unless I got bad RNG or did stupid movement decisions.
I think your meta will still work fine, but there have been some pretty reasonably larger changes lately to our combat. A few things on skills and balance here and there, but the core has remained the same.
Larger changes are planned to the way you interact with it. Most changes lately have been to usability and being able to select enemies when they are obscured by walls (very amazing bit of tech Deck programmed) or other objects. But we really need to have a sit down and just dedicate a build to combat imo. We'll see what we come to, though.
