Looks like saves are stored in C:\Users\<Username>\AppData\Roaming\Goldberg SteamEmu Saves\0. In the \0 folder there are two folders: \remote and \stats. Both seem to contain save data, so you may need to copy both.
Also the \Goldberg SteamEmu Saves folder might be named something else for you, depending on which version you have.

Thanks, I'd looked through app data but just hadn't been able to find it. Anyway, hopefully this works (also probably has escape dungeon 1 saves in it too)

Upon extracting the zip to the "managed" folder then loading the game, the game breaks?

Don't suppose you still have this version lying around somewhere? That link seems to be dead and the front page was never updated.
You know what, I can't find that zip file anywhere, but two things
One, is that the link still seems alright as far as I can tell, it's letting me download it. Two though is that if for whatever reason it's still not working let me know, and I'll zip up my copy of this game which should be the latest version and we'll figure out either me reuploading it there, or somewhere else so you can get ahold of it (or I suppose since I seem to still be able to download it, I could also redownload it and upload it elsewhere, just let me know what you need and I'll try to make it happen)
Huh, if it's just a me thing I'll report the post as a game update. Hopefully one of the mirrors works for me if they decide it's worth updating the main post.

So the savegame folder for the 2.1 version in the OP is actually inside the extracted path,
Escape Dungeon 2 Build.8430092\EscapeDungeon2_Data\Plugins\x86\steam_settings\1309000
Unfortunately the most current save from Kamimile here https://f95zone.to/threads/escape-dungeon-2-final-hide-games.93879/post-8470386 lacks some of the final scenes and the Cyclops scenes altogether.
Only the user_memories_json seems to have an effect, and sadly i think it's encrypted base64 format.
Using cheat engine ingame to try and bump the monster killcounts doesnt work either. And i am not going to grind the many, many loops needed for that ...
Fragment count and most everything else can be modified by cheat engine just fine. So you can be unbeatable and immortal, but you still have to play though multiple times to achieve the kill counts...
I mean the game is surprisingly fun for an hour or two, but then its just grindy and repetitive.
