There really isn't that much new stuff though. This update doesn't include some of the new jobs, some of the scenes for the kiosk chick are just black screens, the money, tax, level and pregnancy systems aren't in yet. Neither is the law and punishment system were you get put on a platform and (fucked?) if you break the law or don't pay taxes. You were also supposed to be able to work there, i think. You can get a taste of the new sex system with the kiosk elf right now, she's the only one with it. What's new this update is the town has been expanded with two elf npcs that you can bang and work for. That's it, though. He wants every npc to have this "sex escalation" system, so yeah. He has to redo large parts of the game. Probably gonna be a while before we get the "full" update. Man....... i just wanted the pregnancy stuff, but then while making that he decides he wants to remake the entire game and now shits taking forever...... Just my luck.
I read beforehand that this would be a WIP build, but i must admit i still expected a bit more after waiting this long.

I don't really think this porn game needed more mechanics, tbh. If putting dev time into updating the mechanics means fewer sex scenes and shorter scenarios per update, is it really worth it?

Still. If this means more Felia content (or whatever the mean, muscular centaur lady from Ch. 1 is called) then it'll all be worth it to me.

yeah, kind of, sort of. i wonder how far the dude will go away from the core idea of his own game. if you ask me the orcs restospective/backstory you see in the chapel is pretty shit, the minotaur(?) that runs in the forest is 'meh' and the goblin little fuckers that jump hero at the cave is shit again. of, and the crazy chick - the one you met at the tree, she's just weird. whatever there was before 5.0 was cool and generally true to the source material, so to speak, and if the dude goes too far away from it, this niche as fuck little game, lol, might become actually way worse and lose its identity. for example, lets take Talia or Kala, both feminine curvy defined chracters, lets say now we get bunch of pointless ripped bipedals, elves, orcs, or you name it - its a quite diffrent thing. before : curvy feminine centaurs, after : ripped elves. it might be your thing, it might not, tastes differ, but its a general shift from what was there in the first place.
and this mechanics overhaul and smaller content updates quite frankly made me actually stop waiting to see whant comes next. im not butthurt ar angry on how the author decided to handle things, but i just lost interest. then again, when it comes, the full package, it might actually be a bomb, but again, it migh not. we;ll see

Why do some devs do this? Remake the core concept or something of their entire game. I can understand if theey do it when the original concept was problematic. But if the original concept works fine, why try to completely remake the core? THis is just like for a large company client project, just to update features, you change the base code completely. This takes unnecessary time and you have nothing to show for it. Summertime saga did the same thing. It has a nice update cycle and then in the name of the tech update, now there is complete content drought. Some of the original characters still don't have a character arc while you take years trying to migrate the whole game to a new core. This guy had a perfectly good game going where he just needed to add character arcs and by the end introduce pregnancy and stuff. "If it ain't broke don't fix it." The core system was fine but by changing the core, they take years to release new content causing complete content drought. If you don't have any output for your patreon supporters for years, why would they invest in your product? Destroying their own Dev cycle for no reason is so meaningless.

Changing a game a lot, even if said game is decently far along, is pretty common in gaming development from what i've seen. Especially in amateur ones. The difference between, say, Concernedape changing Stardew's artstyle a bunch before release, and the Summertime stuff you mentioned and this game, is that the former isn't charging people on Patreon while doing so.
What i think caused this draught was when he started working on the pregnancy stuff and the clinic, he kept adding more sex scenes on top, causing a delay. He then put up a poll asking if this was ok. People obviously overwhelmingly voted yes, more porn in a porn game is fine. Then he hit that patreon goal that stated he wanted to make a 2nd game, a sidescroller, while still working on this one. This made him really ambitious and he even considered expanding by hiring his sister to work with him full time. That was until he eventually realised that one guy working on 2 games at once by himself is an absolutely retarded idea, and decided against it. But then he got it into his head to make a "real" game. So instead of the sidescroller, he wanted to convert sex and fantasy village from a VN to a "real game" with all these new systems and revamps he's now working on. Then some people eventually started to call him out on this, and wel..... Alek didn't respond well at all to this. Got pretty mad and went on about "haters" in several patreon posts. He even took a screenshot of the poll mentioned earlier to justify himself, but a guy rightfully called this out as being disingenious. Those people had voted for a 1-2 month delay for some extra stuff, not an effective soft rework of the entire game that would take over a year to finish. He put out some mini updates, but those were small plasters on a gushing wound at that point. And now this preview build....... That's all he has to show after a year? I guess he had to delete or rework large chunks of what he made for what was supposed to be 6.0 as it was not compatible with his new vision for his game, leading to the mess we're currently in.
Do i think these systems he's adding to the game will make the game better? Yes, probably.
Do i think it's worth these big wait times? ehhh.......
Do i think it's fair to charge people for many months while you give them fuck all in terms of content? No. I'm a patreon to others that are like "yeah i'm delaying this product by 2 months, if you unsubscribe now i'll still send it to you when it comes out"
I don't think Alek is scamming people, atleast intentionally. I just think he got too excited over his new vision for the game, and didn't properly inform his donators how much delay this would create for the game.
He's dug himself a pretty deep hole, hopefully he can come out of it soon.

But why change the original framework? It was working just fine. This game is simply a pure porn game. The main story has proceeded nowhere so everyone here in for centaur futa sex simulator. And it has a working audience. But now trying to bring such severe change and I played the recent update the escalation system doesn't make sense, I mean what is even going on? Patreon supporters are like investors. If you don't actually bring them the profit for their investements, why would't they be upset? Pregnancy and punishment system could have been introduced in the original framework without the system being affected.

And the first point you said . That has caused the failure of several AAA games like Halo 5 and Cyberpunk 2077. Making a plan working on it for years and then immediately changing the core framework leads to disastrous results.

Well he said he wanted to make an actual game not just what it was, so it's an improvement in the quality of the product and a challenge at the same time, he needes to teach himself more about programming and how to develop all the tools and systems that he wants to put in the game.
Let the man see his vision through amd achieve what he desires.
All we can do is wait, patience is key.

making big promises but not planning accordingly always leads to disastrous results. After promisng and delaying content and then arguing with his investors, won't people think twice about investing? And after more than a year, what was given is just a POC with missing animation files which irks me the most. In a sense the new update has what about 4 new animation scenes, the sexual escalation system is still missing lot of context and its available on only one character with several missing animation files. So after more than a year of content drought yet taking money from supporters, if your output is this, then imagine the disappointment of those guys. We are free users, but they have spent some money while getting less than nothing. It will obviously be disappointing. Changing plans in the middle, remaking without planning how it will effect the dev cycles, whether you can handle the work alone or need support, a dev must consider all these and then they should execute the changes. Otherwise this is the mess, false promises and less than ideal results.

Actually, there are 2 scenes in the bar, one of them for bad work. Scene 2 needs to do the job well several times. Also in the clinic.

This developer has really dropped the ball over the past year, And basically blames his supporters for not being realistic. Half way through Alec decided they wanted to start making a second game, and wasted months just to give it up when they realized they couldn't easly learn unreal engine 4 in 30 days. And that was 5 months after the 4month promised turn around for the next update. Alec's gone and referenced the poll that was done back then telling us that we all agreed on "I'd like to wait for a complete update." But never mentioning that we all had the understanding that, that vote was based on a 4month turn around. Now this latest update is finally released a full year later (not 4 months) and the update is partial and missing loads of content that was hinted at through out all this past year. And all because the dev can't make up their friggin mind on what they want to do. Such a wishywashy dev, its hard to even care to support them at this point. Which is too bad cuz the way the game was originally was just fine, yet the "dream" they got in mind keeps changing every other day (or so it seems), and they keep putting more and more on their plate, which will inevitable dissipates to no one caring to support their ever changing "goals."

I'm like $150 in on "support" just for a partial update. I'm done at this point. I can't bare to pay the price of another 2 full games just for a partial update another year from now.

This was just the point I was making in my previous comment. You are an investor who invested in a product. If you get a diminishing return to your investement and instead the Dev accuses and argues with you as a investor then fail to give proper result, of course it will be irksome. The thing is I have seen some popular patreon developers milking their supporters while making false promises for dozens of months. Don't they realise this will ultimately affect their own profit?

many devs do, but you're wrong if you think it hurts their own profit, many supporters are into bein cucked and pay solely for the excitement of being ripped off

Yeah one person like that made a comment like that on my reply that we have to wait and be patient. And exact phenomenon I observed with Animopron as weel the one with Breaking the Quiet series.

That's what happens when you work alone and you have no one but yourself to bounce your own ideas off of. And then, patreon tends to be a hugbox full of ass kissers, the creator is usually not challenged on that platform. And if they are and the creator then acts negatively, those people who are willing to air a different opinion are pushed away and usually unsubscribe. Alek can't handle pushback, and that just encourages less opposing views and more ass kissing.
He rarely gets critique and when he does he acts negatively because he can't handle it. It's very easy to lose sight when there is no one there to slap you back to reality.

I started supporting this game when 5 dropped, stayed for a while but this is kinda lackluster and not worth it IMO for the support. I'll wait for the full release to decide if I want to resub. I can't blame him for having a vision and following through, just the timeline is out of wack and content is slower than he promised or at least implied

Ya I went back and checked the email about the Poll, where Alec wrote- what all he had completed already, and litterally all of it is the only content that was released in the latest update, a full year after it was already done. He totally milked his followers for a full year. What a joke.

The update is a fucking joke.

But let's face it, did you really expect anything else from an early access patreon game? These people get paid regardless of how much content they develop, they have no incentive to put in any degree of considerable effort.
