Yep.. >1 or <1 depends on the difference of center and groove bone position between the model used to make the motion and your's.So quick update, I did try poking it around
I've used TaraTaranko models I had lying around, turns out multiplying Y values greater then 1(1.1, 1.2...) actually makes the model sink deeper in the ground. I had good results with 0.6~0.8, but it still seems like it will need some tweaking
There are also sporadic cases where the model needs to have the center bone in the same position of the center spine bone (they are called Retargeted versions) used for animating the PS4 motion rips (persona etc...) and didn't try but Lip&hip could also be the case. [Seto on YT as an example of Retargeted motions].
As for tweaking, it's pretty much always needed, but you'll be much more comfy with simple bases like TaraT. or Tda, instead of MrPink or Sps where after a certain degree the limbs simply go ragdoll.
