I appreciate the thought, but I'm still not gonna do it. I really enjoy the concept and the unique direction you've taken with it, but you really should consider making the game self-contained. I'm sure as hell not opening up any kind of external connection, be it to scan a QR code or follow an external link, from a porn game, regardless of how safe anyone tells me it is. Most people are probably gonna nope out just from the URL editing, let alone being asked to go to an external website and scan the QR code.

TL;DR: Most people aren't gonna be comfortable scanning a QR code or following an external link from a porn game, so you're gonna lose a lot of players whenever they hit anything that requires any kind of external tool or link.

QR codes don't just lead to websites, QR code scanners also don't instantly open the scanned contents (if it was a link).
The QR code just contains text. I scanned it. It didn't open a webpage, didn't open a new browser tab, didn't interact with my internet connection at all.

I was fully comfortable scanning it, since I actually know what QR codes are and how they work. The only way scanning one would be a risk, is if the user is an absolute dumbass.

I was too, but I'd rather less tech literate users be wary than be blindly trusting. This one is fine, but it's fair for others to say "I don't trust this and I've seen reports of problems in the past so I just won't" and that be correct.

I don't share the opinion, but it's a good point.

You could add an in-game item, a code scanner. Maybe tie that in with the shop? It wouldn't even take much, just reflavour the text, saying that the player is purchasing the code to the item being sold, instead of the item itself. Then, instead of the QR code, you put something like the Secret codes, which the player can enter into the scanner...

You could even add another puzzle, perhaps turn it into the tutorial puzzle --- jailbreaking your scanner so you can input codes manually. Use it to guide the player to the page with Secrets.

Regardless, keeping the game self-contained and not reliant on any extra tools is a good idea in general.

I will stay away from QR codes in the future. There isn't really anything stopping me from putting human-readable text in an image, especially now that I have already done a "QR code one." That being said, I'm gonna keep it a stack - the need to use external tools is what I love about certain puzzle games, and while a lot of secrets won't require anything special, I will be putting in some that require you to do some "homework" - just personal preference.

Don't get me wrong, I enjoy those kinds of games as well, I just don't mix them with porn. A cool puzzle game you can solve and then share with friends is great, even better if you have to think outside the typical box. But personally, I don't think most people share their porn with people, especially with niche content like this. I know I don't.

Just for clarity's sake, what raises a red flag for me personally is using anything directly (like an external link, QR code, or other file) from the game, into an external tool. I don't mind having to look something up, do some kind of math or basic cryptography, something that requires a converter like from decimal to hexidecimal, etc., as long as it's something I can manually do myself, without grabbing any kind of file from the game.

You might wanna take a bit to consider what your main drive for making this is. If you wanna make a cool tech-focused puzzle game, the niche porn is really gonna limit your audience. If you wanna make a porn game, requiring even basic tech knowledge is gonna limit your audience, and requiring external tools is going to limit it even more. If this is just a hobby thing for you, then I wouldn't worry about it too much though, but you may wanna put up a disclaimer in the developer notes about needing external tools if that's the direction you're gonna go.

I like the concept of your game, and I like the puzzles, but no one is gonna convince me to feed something directly from a porn game into a tool on the internet.

Whatever direction you decide to develop this in, I hope it goes well for you!

Pretty cool game so far! Interesting new idea and a fresh concept for these kinda games. Even if there's not a lot of content, but I can see the vision. Also thank god there's a walkthrough cause I wouldn't have figured out some of these puzzles myself lmao
