True and not trueFrom what I've gathered from here and many Discords the jump from SFM to Blender is a wide gap, most take years to make the jump and Blender is a program and skill that takes IRL time to learn.
I've fumbled with both programs for a bit. I found SFM slightly more intuitive to get into, at least UI wise (if you have like 100 hours spare, to begin with...) and that's why I used it much more often than Blender. I wouldn't say one is necessarily easier than the other. Both have their own logics how certain stuff is handled and connected. My main reason to not use SFM all the time is Source being an old ass engine at this point. To make SFM clips or shots look somewhat decent, I have to apply multiple layers of smart lighting, particles, air/wind/fog and similar effects to the scenes and do some additional video/image editing with other software. All this adds a lot of work time after animating in SFM while Blender's raw renders simply do not need that much afterwork.
