I wonder if the game will detect that we have played the first game to carry on the choices we've made or it will be like The Seven Realms where the game asks what you did in the previous game.

None of those....

1. A recap of GOH for those who have never played it/have forgotten key information about the past season.
2. Both stories, while connected, are also self-contained within each arc.
3. All GoH characters will be present in House of Hearts; the new mechanics will also affect them when they return.
   

This is Season 2 though...and not a new game.
