I don't want to get offtopic so if this gets deleted, that's fair, but to be clear, you're not really accurately portraying in your spoiler the correct argument.
You're right that people don't go and say "Remove vanilla" from an experience that clearly isn't for them, that said, there are people in the En Tee Argh camp that try to convince developers to add it into a game that it doesn't belong. My own game and a few other games were bribed (they attempted to anyway) by certain fans of the genre "Add it for (input money amount)". See what I mean? It's not just paranoia, it's happened before.
Also, one thing you're also misconstruing is the reason why people don't want it in the game at all. Now, you can disagree with people that don't want it at all even if optional, there are fair arguments on that point but I won't cover them here. That said, it's more a situation akin to a dinner plate. Some people HATE when food touches their other food. Mashed potatoes touching eggs or their meat or their blah blah blah. Now, normally a fetish is like, adding something that you may or may not like. Not too bad to be honest, but it's still annoying to avoid say horse radish (Pegging as an example) when you're eating some nice curry (Romantic Sex) or salad (Small Boobs) on the plate. It's avoidable, but it's still around. Then someone adds something they consider to be a huge pile of shit (En Tee Argh in this case) and suddenly the issue isn't avoiding it, it's "Why the fuck is their shit on my plate?!?"
You can agree or disagree on whether this is an overexaggeration, but you can't deny that's how people feel. So in my book, I don't see how complaining about that is bad. Do people take it too far? Sure they do. Should dev's be attacked? NO! But is there something somewhat reasonable in their argument? Absolutely.
