Really though, when you're setting up the poses for a render with multiple figures, it takes more time for every additional figure, but not so much, maybe 30 minutes more per person, as long as you're planning on more figures from the start. The rendering process will take more time also. It's challenging but doable. But over 4 figures in one render will degrade DAZ's render quality. Adding a line of code for an additional scene takes more time, but not much. It's not a character trait. It's easier to make a sex scene where ethan is not included and his involvement is largely away from the scene. Its consistent in most scenes even from their first time cucking. She gets fucked, camera turns to him to show that he is "involved". Otherwise you need to separately render scenes for just one route(this is why Peter route never gets anything its hyper specific from a point of rendering). Not cost or time effecient. Ethan being more into the mix is inefficient from a production perspective unless a majority of patreon voters demand it.
I noticed similar trends happening in movies where writing or choices were made of all sorts wasn't a plot point or made for artistic reason so much as it was the behind the scenes drama forcing writers to adapt the story. So is the character doing it because the writer thinks it fits the character and story or because the writing needs to adapt to somereal world circumstance demanding it? Even king b said his patrons dictate the story because he needs to cut a profit. Its effecient but not artistic. So the story becomes less coherent over time and more porny.
Watch with the "I would have stayed the night" update the story progress to her doing that with no choice on players part. It's bad writing, it's not my cup of tea story wise, but it is effecient for rendering a scene you can use in multiple routes including whether they are together or not.
When I make a group sex scene, I plan it out as a whole scene with the option of cutting figures later. And while I can render it out in stages and compile it all in a photo editor later if it is necessary, i.e. the figures and a floor/bedspread/etc., in one render and the background in another.
I'm not complaining at all, IMHO this game is the shit. But there's always room for improvement going forward.
