If you make full cuck, it will definitely go down the other way. Also, scenes are triggered with a combination of stats and flags triggered in the path. So, just changing stats might not help. There are three paths as i see to reach this scene. Make Ethan act jealous during first scene with Darrel, and unfaithful during visit from Jenna. That will make it easy to trigger this scene. Basically, Ethan has to be a jerk to lead Nat towards this scene.
