No, I don't think that will be an improvement. I can point you at other games where this has been tried and there's now a 2/3rds complete version and a 1/3rd complete version but they don't make a complete game.Instead of working on the project he already have to fix the code, wouldn't it be better to start on a new one and little by little do it, he already have the images and animations of the previous versions and can rely on the code of this project If he need to remember the order of the system, then he wouldn't have to modify the current version and he can work at his own pace on what could be called a remaster version.
I'm sure the devs have the best of intentions and time schedules but life happens when you're making other plans so I'd rather see a game completed and then restarted with improvements personally. I realise other people have other opinions (it's like the short frequent update vs longer less frequent update) but for me I'd rather have a completed game with all the issues than wait years (cause this stuff isn't quick) just for it to catch up to today (but at higher quality)
