don't know, try deleting and downloading it again, anyways you better asking this on their discordHey everyone,
I have a question. Until recently I could still play the game, but now nothing works anymore. I open the game, a loading circle appears at the mouse pointer and then nothing happens at all. What could be the reason for this? Basically nothing has changed on the PC recently and some games still work, but not this one and some others. Somehow it's all very strange at the moment.
I hope this is in the right place in this section, otherwise please refer me to the right thread or forum.

I've already tried that, but it didn't work. What came to my mind, the only thing I think is new since then, is Valorant. Has anyone else installed Valorant and the anti virus program from it then? I could imagine that it's because of Vanguarddon't know, try deleting and downloading it again, anyways you better asking this on their discord
Try disabling it or removing and see if you still have problem, also some one had reported in different thread that a new windows update had stopped games from starting and everything worked when update was removed, check if you have any new updates that are causing problemI've already tried that, but it didn't work. wait, you installed an antivirus? don't you think that's exactly the problem?I've already tried that, but it didn't work. What came to my mind, the only thing I think is new since then, is Valorant. must be win 11 coz i haven't got any win update for win 10, anyways if that were the issue then compatibility mode may help, or open it in administrator modeTry disabling it or removing and see if you still have problem, also some one had reported in different thread that a new windows update had stopped games from starting and everything worked when update was removed, check if you have any new updates that are causing problem
Thanks for the two tips, I'll give it a try and see what works. Windows is always a bit specialTry disabling it or removing and see if you still have problem, also some one had reported in different thread that a new windows update had stopped games from starting and everything worked when update was removed, check if you have any new updates that are causing problem
Sorry, I expressed myself incorrectly, this is not an anti-virus program but an anti-cheat program, which is also very special.wait, you installed an antivirus? don't you think that's exactly the problem?
Try going to the base directory, not just the documents folders you put it in. If you're on windows, it should be something like C: -> Users -> Name -> AppData -> Roaming -> RenPY. Delete the AHITR folder, then redownload and run again.I've already tried that, but it didn't work. What came to my mind, the only thing I think is new since then, is Valorant. do you have python installed locally on your computer?Okay, I think I've found the “error”, but I don't know how to fix it. All games that don't work have a Python 2.7 folder, all games that work have a Pythin 3.9 folder.
Yes, I have. I can't remember exactly what it was for, but I needed it for some program.do you have python installed locally on your computer?
you could try to update that. might be that your install overrides the version needed by renpy and creates a conflict. i have multiple versions installed myself as stable diffusion needs those, and different versions.Yes, I have. I can't remember exactly what it was for, but I needed it for some program.
I uninstalled everything I had in Python for testing. Still does not work. Anyway, now at least I know what the problem is and what I have to look out for in the games. Sad, but there's nothing you can doyou could try to update that. might be that your install overrides the version needed by renpy and creates a conflict. i have multiple versions installed myself as stable diffusion needs those, and different versions.
yeah, but when you install python locally, it creates environment system paths. uninstalling it doesn't restore that. but reinstalling will i don't have any issues with any renpy games at all.I uninstalled everything I had in Python for testing. Still does not work. Anyway, now at least I know what the problem is and what I have to look out for in the games. Sad, but there's nothing you can do
