They're a pervasive lot...By the way ...
... called it!
It seems that you are here for a long time. How many times has you seen that a dev of a popular game decides to make two Lis lesbians by surprise and have some kind of relationship that MC (the player) doesn't know, thinking "everybody likes two girls making out with each other in a porn game, so...", and fandom suddenly is pissed off? Rhetorical question, not need ot answer. I have seen it a lot of times. A lot of people hates Maya and Josy from BaDIK even if they like the game, and its the most popular game here. The same has happened recently with "sunshine love", from MrDots, another popular dev here. And now, this one is hinting that some of the Lis may be lesbians and having an affair that the MC is not aware of... I'm just making a friendly warning that is a dangerous move that easily can backfire. The same about making a character a prostitute or too slutty with others than MC, or bringing back ex-lovers, lesbian o no, by the way.Yes, he is the "Main Character". But he's not the only character. The main character does most things but not necessarily all things. He makes decisions only for himself. In all kinds of games, the MC is hindered or helped by decisions supporting characters make. I don't know of any story where the MC is the only one who does anything or decides anything and everything for everybody. And not having made all the decisions does not make anybody a "doormat" or similar - if you think that, you'll have problems in life.
And as for the "role playing game" (not in the "roll a D20 to see if you hit" sense but in the "walking in somebody else's shoes" meaning) I would find it quite tedious as well if nothing out of my control happens - good or bad.
That doesn't make your opinion invalid of course, but while sometimes read, you are completely blowing it out of proportion here IMO. And I say that as somebody who hates any kind of NTR (I use the old tag name intentionally, because it stands for all variations known to me).
For most of us, our egos (and life experiences) are strong enough that pretend lovers being lovers with another pretend person doesn't enrage us.Never, I hope, if MC is not involved by instigating it. A game it´s not a movie or a novel. It's not even a Visual Novel. The player is not just a viewer. He takes decisions, so he must be involved mostly in everything that happens around him. The player is the MC, and it's called "Main Character" for something, after all. If not, where is the point? If the other characters are doing important things on their own in the house that MC (that means, the player) don't know (having sex, romances or whatever), you only make the MC a SC (Secondary Character AKA "doormat") in his own game, and also, look like an idiot that doesn't even know what is happening in his own house.
And, over all, be careful. Any form of NTR (lesbian or not), is a huge NO-NO for a lot of people, even if it's just hinted. If your idea is that there are no romantic feelings in this game and MC and the girls just like to have sex because of Rae's aura or whatever, and after leaving the house they are going to mostly forget about each others, you should make it 100% CLEAR.
But it seems that some characters are developing feelings for MC, being cute with him, cuddling with him, kissing him, actually caring for him... And MC (the player) could get fond of those characters. It's a role game after all, the point is the player forgets for a second it's just a fantasy and gets involved in the story and the characters... If it happens that the MC (that means, the player) for example, enters a room and sees the character he is fond of, having intimacy with another character, even a girl... you are going to kick a huge hornet's nets. A lot of games have gone shout for that.
If the main theme of a game is not NTR, jealousy, rejection and cheating and aren't aiming specifically to the fans of that kind of fetishes, intelligent devs don't go even 1000 miles close of those themes. Games like this one are not real life. Are fantasies, and most people don't like to feel any form of jealousy or rejection in their own fantasy. It's just a friendly warning.
One thing for people to remember:Yes, he is the "Main Character". But he's not the only character. The main character does most things but not necessarily all things. He makes decisions only for himself. In all kinds of games, the MC is hindered or helped by decisions supporting characters make. Suddenly become lesbians? It seems that you are here for a long time. How many times has you seen that a dev of a popular game decides to make two Lis lesbians by surprise
I'm sure Zanith will give your opinion all the attention it deserves. By the way, are you a patron/subscriber?I'm not saying there is a serious problem right now. Again, just making a friendly warning. And that's all I have to say, I'm not going to continue this conversation because I'm just actually talking to one person: ZanithOne, that is active in this forum. If he thinks this opinion can be relevant and useful for him, great. If not, it's OK.
I'm talking about a game, not real life. I'm not extrapolating. You do. Porn games are fantasies and nobody wants to be cheated, have nasty surprises or put aside for another character in their own fantasies, the same way people who play Call of Duty want to save the day and not seeing how other characters do it. And yes, everybody knows that the player is not actually de MC. But when we play, we PRETEND to be the MC for a moment. It´s called roleplaying and suspension of disbelief. You play role games like if you were just an spectator of a movie or the reader of a novel? Good for you. But most people don't. Respect that. For most of us, our egos (and life experiences) are strong enough that pretend lovers being lovers with another pretend person doesn't enrage us.
Even though you said it is a rhetorical question: yes, it does happen quite often. In harem style games or when two LIs have known each other for some time before or some other connection. Yes, it always displeases some players - as by the way does every decision a dev makes. But so far I've seen a couple guys complaining and then the game moved on without any significant problems like massively dwindling patreon numbers. How many times has you seen that a dev of a popular game decides to make two Lis lesbians by surprise and have some kind of relationship that MC (the player) doesn't know, thinking "everybody likes two girls making out with each other in a porn game, so...", and fandom suddenly is pissed off? Slight disagreement here. I mean, technically you are correct of course. But while some people read an AVN/play an adult game like they would read a book or watch a movie, i. e. as an outsider watching the action, even if it is told from the protagonist's view, some like to put themselves into the shoes of the protagonist and empathize with him enough so that what is done to MC is done to me. Well, in a manner of speaking, when MC gets shot I don't start bleeding, so yeah, it is a difference and it is fiction, and similar things happen in other fictional stories where we get unhappy and have to roll with it or stop leaving (the most beloved character turns traitor or stuff). But in as far as such a fictional story goes, MC "is" me then. One thing for people to remember:
THE MC IS NOT YOU!
Why the devs did not put the scene of Halloween dreamer+ from galleries?
Wdym?mb my english is not good
i was wondering when are you gonna update the galleries? the Halloween scene from dreamer pro plus is missing from gallery scene
I'm not trying to kick a hornet's nest, or to attack you personally... But it's a bit silly to write on a public forum and expect no reactions from other people. If you need to express your opinion for Zanith's eyes only, feel free to message him privately.I'm not saying there is a serious problem right now. Again, just making a friendly warning. As I said, I'm not interested in continuing this debate, because I have seen already this kind of debates and I know it ends up escalating and with the mods deleting all the post. I have said what I wanted to say, and I don't even read other post about it. But by chance I have read your last line, and I must say it's absurd. Do you think I'm threatening ZanithOne? Really? Friendly warning means exactly that: FRIENDLY. Be careful means exactly that: be careful, because a lot of games has gone south and have had big problems with the fandom when the dev has introduced themes even slightly related with NTR, and I don't want that for a game that I mostly like and a dev that seems to be a good guy that interacts here. It was crystal clear in my posts, that are also written in a polite general tone, but apparently some people lack of reading skills or have a malicious mind.I'm not trying to kick a hornet's nest, or to attack you personally... As for the rest, it's evident you don't like the idea of the other LIs to have sexy fun with each other, because you consider it a betrayal towards the MC. It's your opinion, and it is as valid as anyone else's. Only, hiding behind "it's problematic", "it's cheating" and "most people don't like that" is not very honest. I'm quite sure most of the players wouldn't have any problem with it, only the ones who extend the NTR definition way beyond the original scope.
Also, "be careful" and "a friendly reminder" are practically Corleone-grade mob speak.
I mean, you might not have intended for it sounding that way, but I will second Biscardone on this. The way you are phrasing it really has a flavor of "What a nice game you have here, wouldn't it be a shame if something happened to it?" for me too.As I said, I'm not interested in continuing this debate, because I have seen already this kind of debates and I know it ends up escalating and with the mods deleting all the post. Corleone-grade mob speak? What you say is insulting-grade, that's for sure. And I don't like to be insulted, so I'm going to block you.
Glad I'm not the only one who thought the phrasing and tone was slightly off. And I know I'm preaching to the choir at this point, but it's evident I wasn't implying that Zanith was being menaced directly - that would be absurd, unless you believe Videodrome is real. However, any variation of "watch out, if you go this way you will alienate your patrons and lose your revenue" isn't much better, in my opinion.I mean, you might not have intended for it sounding that way, but I will second Biscardone on this. you aren't the only one who found the phrasing weird. it honestly sounded like a thinly veiled threat. but given the guy doesn't know where Zanith lives, it's not like he could do anything apart from review bomb the game while shaking his fist like an old man yelling at kids to get off his lawnGlad I'm not the only one who thought the phrasing and tone was slightly off. For the sake of discussion, I'll also add that as far as I know at this point of the development none of the girls have ever made any claim of exclusivity, either between them and the MC or each other - unless I've missed some dialogue. In general, AHITR has a very laid back tone, and jealousy is overall kept to a minimum - at least in the game. That's why, given the premise, I find odd people could ever sound the betrayal alarm at the mere thought of the girls doing some "experimentation" with each other.
Remember, I was posting in the context of people who take immersion to an unhealthy level. Some people here take the stories far to personally, IMHO.Slight disagreement here. Definitely the wording landed like a veiled threat.Glad I'm not the only one who thought the phrasing and tone was slightly off. what you said comes off as a thinly veiled threat. by definition, a warning means bad things will likely happen and just putting the word friendly in front of it doesn't make it different. you can spin it anyway you want but that doesn't change the definition of the word. also insulting people does not help make your point any more validAs I said, I'm not interested in continuing this debate, because I have seen already this kind of debates and I know it ends up escalating and with the mods deleting all the post. I'm not sure where you are getting any of that. First off, it's not even added yet so there is no way to confirm the he's not instigating it. And second, though it hasn't been implemented so far there have been sever times the player has been able to give responses that suggest they are in fact fine with it.Never, I hope, if MC is not involved by instigating it. A game it´s not a movie or a novel. It's not even a Visual Novel. The player is not just a viewer. He takes decisions, so he must be involved mostly in everything that happens around him.
Again, there is no "surprise" lesbians. Rae is very open to both sexes from the start. Naomi and Blair have a full conversation with the MC about them licking other girls. Cait has already shown interest in a subtle way. The only one who really hasn't is El but she is "prudish" for lack of a better word so she may not even be able to accept it her self. It's also hard to tell where Yona stands on that. Three openly Bi character wanting to sleep with the same sex shouldn't come as a surprise to you.It seems that you are here for a long time. How many times has you seen that a dev of a popular game decides to make two Lis lesbians by surprise and have some kind of relationship that MC (the player) doesn't know, thinking "everybody likes two girls making out with each other in a porn game, so...
