The dev said some time ago that they planned for the game to be longer than their previous game (Paccsu) so probably there will be some twists on the story to make it longer than it feels currently.

Same as the versions before, your saves should work just fine. Just check the save folder that's stuffed with it next time you feel like it might replace it; Goes for any game updated, really. I know when I haven't done that, my files got replaced and I got pissed.

If you've advanced enough Amber should be in the underground base inside her shop in Buttweave, you should see the alien crash event after leaving through the south gate.
