Oh boy... the future does not look bright for this game. Instead of again reworking what he did, he should just take his visual assets and text content and rebuild the game from scratch, transplanting the simple systems that work, remaking the ones that got bloated, and tighten his storyline and progression (and map out his story arcs before starting to code).
That would probably go faster and more efficiently rather than proclaiming to be depressed while he continues to deepen the sinkhole that got him depressed in the first place. He just keeps dreaming up new stuff while haphazardly trying to clean up his old stuff.
So his maintenance becomes more complicated while he himself is responsible for an unending feature-creep that keeps increasing complexity. That's a self-inflicted vicious circle. That dude should either restart the game or leave it behind. I doubt that anyone would be upset if he would announce a remake with the assets he has. It would be better than keep shoveling shit on a shit pile.
(And personally I'd keep out that fringe kink pissing- and hucow stuff, but maybe that's just me)
