Here's what I don't understand: If people stop supporting the project like you hope happens, how will that make it go any faster? I'm being 100% genuinely serious when I ask this because it makes zero sense to me. I've explained many times that I'm not a studio, I'm doing this with my free time. How would freezing me out make it go "faster?" Seems to me like it would decrease my motivation, and it would decrease the artist's motivation, so the project could actually cease to continue.
In reality, what makes me work to my potential are the people that support me on patreon, because it humbles me and makes me want to do what I can to make them happy. It puts pressure on me, tbh.
Another thing I'm having trouble understanding - I've expressed the desire to finish this project so I can make more projects. If I'm trying to maximize my earnings, wouldn't I want to parlay APM into another story, and then another after that, to continue to expand my customer base? Milking APM would limit growth - my growth as a developer in addition to growing my bank account.
I'll be eagerly awaiting your answers to explain this so-called milking operation I'm running.
And by way, the updates came quicker in the past because Parts 1 and 2 were largely kinetic. Now I'm having to write and program different scenarios, so it's taking more time than the first two parts. My effort hasn't changed since the beginning.

I might look for writing help on my next project, but this project is something I’ve wanted to write and program on my own, as it’s my first. I’m doing this for my enjoyment as much as anything else. If circumstances change or I get burnt out, I could seek help, but right now I’m enjoying it.

Guys, let's take it easy. It's not easy to make a game. Render images, create scenarios and environments and in the end hope that the entire process does not have errors, because, if it does, everything will have to be redone. Another point, every good game needs writing, a narrative. This second part is very difficult because it depends on the author's imagination and sometimes he may not be inspired and if he still decides to continue working and working, the game will lose quality. I know we all want one more big update, but remember, the developer is a human being, he needs to sleep, work and play. He often has to change his leisure time to work on the project. This is very tiring.

I can take criticism. You can call me slow as fuck and I’ll be okay with that. I agree I’m very meticulous… and put way more effort into the script and the buildup than is probably needed, but that’s the way my brain operates. I will, however, get defensive when people claim this is a milking operation, because it’s factually wrong. If you don’t want to believe me that’s on you for being stubborn and lazy. All you need to do is the math to realize after I pay taxes on 100% of the receipts and pay the artist, I’m not Scrooge McDuck here swimming in money. And people want to call patrons morons for feeding the beast, but the alternative is no money coming in… how is that going to make the process any better or faster? Still waiting for an answer on that.
As for the lack of sex/nudity stuff, I can take criticism for that. The story won’t always be like that, so it doesn’t bother me at all. I’ve said before, the way I’m crafting this is like a Hallmark movie that turns down a dark path. You have to establish the Hallmark element of it first in order to make the dark turn unique. Whether or not it ultimately falls flat I can’t say, but my intent is to make it an extremely enjoyable experience for those who have invested all the time. That’s not a milking strategy. That’s always been the plan. But guess what? We are at the point where shit starts to get real, so relax.

But exactly what you shouldn't do is make excuses and explain to the haters, they don't care, they don't hear you and don't accept your arguments. Any other person who likes your game, even who doesn't like the development time, understands how you work and what you do. Therefore, I think you should not waste your strength and energy on these trifles, focus on your creativity. I wish you inspiration, it won't hurt you at this stage.
