When an author tells you to ignore their story you know they are being serious. A little piece of them has to die inside to say that.
Don't be absurd.
I am an amateur writer and I write for my own pleasure. Whether people like my stories or not does not affect my life in the slightest.
My point is, ignore my story if you are looking for guidance how this game is going to play out.

I guess that is the difference between you and I. Writing for me is a horrible exhausting struggle that no sane man would undertake unless possessed by a demon that he can neither resist nor even comprehend. My favorite thing to write is "The End." I write for the pleasure of others. A pleasure shared is a pleasure doubled. I will have to admit that I also feel a twinge of pleasure in writing something that someone else hates. I enjoy that much more than I do if they like it. I suppose that tolerance for torment is what makes a professional.

man i wish i could write games but i just am too addicted to playing them to make time to do that. though i often create ideas in my head for storylines as i play a game that i don't particularly enjoy the story but like the characters..

I see people here debating where the story is going, but isn't the main structure already all detailed in ?

Of course, there must be some branching because it is a game, but he will presumably be following the same main direction.
Didn't he already say he only taken few pointers from that story and changed the narrative of remaining parts?

Start writing them down, maybe in time you'll be in the right space to create something!
