You are wrong on so many levels I don't even know where to begin. To make a game you need couple of things:These developers don't spend hardly any time on the game if there is only and update 6 months to a to a year. They would be better stories, better written and not having crap all over. They only work 2, weeks before update is still set to b released. These guys basically same models in all the games. This game should already have been completed .
- knowledge of software used (and you learn every step of the way not just watch one tutorial and then you can make infinite games)
- resources for said softwares (renders and assets cost money)
- hardware to make said resources into actual product (which even if you have a good one can still take a lot of time it's a process)
- sustainability (you need to pay rent and utilities every month, have some food and water, get medicine if you get sick, means of transportation, some exercise, some socializing irl)
- time (the things I wrote above unless someone gives you means you have to have a job which is usually at least 10 hours of your day, plus you gotta get sleep somewhere in there too, cook food or do other responsibilities like cleaning after yourself or caring for someone close to you)
As a player you have luxury to enjoy the game whenever you are free, on lunch break or while stuck in traffic or while visiting someone before bed etc. As a developer you have to work with the time you have, plus not everyone is comfortable letting people in their lives know they make adult entertainment so when and where to do it are also factors. Another thing that was mentioned is that this specific developer was involved in a huge storm which no doubt put extra stress and duties in real life.
Then you also have to deal with creative blocks, people assisting you missing deadlines or dealing with problems of their own, something breaking (hardware, software progress gets corrupted, power going out etc.), emergency happening irl.
I have plenty of things to critisize about this game, but what you wrote sounds like someone sitting home all day gooning and not able to comprehend how most people have to spend their time on other things in life even if they want to build a serious game that is not just a hobby. Only few developers can afford to develop games full time and that is because their earnings are into several thousands consistently every month (which can all stop suddenly so it's always a risk).
So please think of other possibilities and perspectives when you type somthing so ignorant. I'm sure there is plenty more to be said on this topic by smarter people than me, but I hope you got the gist of it. Peace.
