you're wrong, on steam you buy a finished product, you pay for it, and you return it if it's not good, on patreon you pay the creator to make you the game, monthly, with no guarantees on anything, if it will be good, if the game will be finished, you'll never know how long it will take, yes they are different, but in a way that is too scary, in fact, there wouldn't even be a comparison, you're talking about a mountain (STEAM) versus a hill (PATREON)

WRONG, steam is not just for completed games skippy.
I signed up for “ fates of life” for 9.99 one time fee as soon as he moved it to steam and got every chapter since the same day it dropped (no more tiers) and they made enough money just from steam to finish this game and now working on the sequel which I’ll still get without having to pay anymore

Btw, its like you don't know paradox and warhammr studios or recent AAA games, almost all these games come out unfinished and the devs launched DLC with features that should be in the base game, just to name a few games like CK3(crusader kings 3), Stellaris, must Ubisoft games etc.

You also see devs who start charging per release on Steam, rather than a single payment for a game. Releasing on Steam just means different forms of abuse, not an elimination of the abuse.

What surprise me tough is that he began the game with such constraints. Hoping he will manage to get through despite this. In which case a slow burn game is not the best scenario.

I've said last year that there might have been developers that have bought his game and continued to make it. While Palmer only does a little bit here and there to help them out and make the transition happen. The writing is completely different from two updates ago. The internal dialogue is constant and meaningless. The change in certain characters actions and glossing over major plot points. It went from a very well written VN to average in an instant.

This happens more and more in this genre now. I believe its the same team buying quite a few of these games out and changing it to their usual cliche, simple style. Whether the new devs pay the original dev to continue to make it but in their new way... Or they completely take over everything.

I've seen Palmers writing earlier and from his short story. Its good. Lately the writing in APM is like a Euro dev. I refuse to believe Palmer is doing most of the writing lately. Nobody can change their style so drastically. I'm guessing that this long break is some behind the scenes crap between both of them. I think it's the plot. He might not be a good sexual tease writer but story wise it's good. I also felt the same.. whatever Ana internal thought was in part 1, if scene would have been introduced that time, it would have created a good sensual scene.

But I guess the dialogue nowadays as the scenes are becoming more sexual, it's turning from sensual to porn. I laughed when hank wanted Ana to call him Daddy...it was out of the blue for me lol...like a woman who has daddy issues n all emotional, crying and boss asked her to call him Daddy lol. It's not even cheesy at all .. should have thought of some good pick up line for him...but I guess maybe in future the scene will be designed that way where Ana will be required to call him Daddy in submissive route to satisfy few fantasies.

Story wise i feel he's writing in a hurry...So the scene buildup might be time taking as he's deciding on what fantasies he wants to include on which antagonist paths. That might not be the part of main story, but he has to build up some level of tease in their paths anyways before sex to show slow corruption which might be unnecessary but maybe to satisfy slow corruption lovers. That's where he lose his touch with his writing because this tease is totally based on imagination and not a part of main story. So it doesn't hit the way it did earlier. Think of it as inserting some unnecessary event to achieve a goal of sex in multiple paths trying to cover multiple fantasies that might not even have any impact on main story. Many events in other VNs goes down same way..just because they divert the story in few paths that's not required for sex. That's why I felt that whenever the sensual part comes in any antagonist path in the main story, introduce the scene there itself...so that they don't have to create special event just to build up tease on particular character path. I guess from weekend story onwards dialogue will make more sense as main story will move on from there. For now it's mostly tease building events.

Like chris in kitchen, Marvin in bar, rob massage etc..those time dialogues were perfect....tease scenes could have made of high level like a lil bit more those time rather than just groping/spanking...it could have been made like touching from inside the bra or trying to slide hands inside her panties etc. It would have gone with the flow of the main story asthe sexual tension was already raised during those moment..but creating a separate event out of main storyline just to increase corruption with antagonist is odd, and dialogues seems childish / pornish rather than situational or flow of story.
