Too verbose, not enough progression with other characters. Chris content is not my jam but at least things moved forward with him.

Remember David is already looking at legality regarding his daughter if that happens he would get her. The scenerio is plausible.

Frankly speaking, if the story is intended to be realistic, that does need to happen. On the side where David did not cheat, there has to be a path where he simply stops caring and goes along with the separation.
If your wife continues to accuse you of cheating on her when you know you didn't and even drags your baby into it, surely there's a point where love runs out and you actually no longer want to fix things and get back with a woman like that.

My guy is being screwed over by his previous lover, his current lover and his best friend, all at once. Surely he deserves one ending where he keeps some dignity.
