Not the same. This game for all its sin is still following a fixed narrative. AWAM has lost the plot long back.
After so many improvements and remakes, it was really the end of that game. What matters now are clothes and Sophia's silly son.
"A Wife and Mother" even the name doesn't make sense anymore :KEK:
I was kicked out of there for giving a better title "A Beloved Cuckold Son"

I'm not comparing, but at least here things are moving forward and the train hasn't gone off the rails.

Do we know when we’ll get the next update?
I guess we should not think high about the developer at this time...He always said he took this project as a hobby and i don't think that this project is his passion. It's like if he gets bored from everything else from his life like work, family, entertainment, politics, traveling, holidays, sleep etc then he thinks to give time on this VN.

It's better to stop expecting anything on time from this VN..It's not like whenever the update will come out, it will be exciting. It will be blueball.... And it's not like he is delaying for only this update. It has been happening since 1.5 years now. And the upcoming update was supposed to be short update without any holidays or disturbance in his life or political scenario of the country or work. But he still managed to delay even during free time. So keep your expectations low for upcoming updates when he will face Xmas holidays, work , family tour etc.

It’s sadly disappointing to just wait around without any wait time. I don’t understand what’s the worst that’ll happen if he gives a tentative date. It’s not like people are going to hang him for missing the date.

There was a virtual lynching when he used to give rough dates and missed them. He publicly stated he won't be doing that anymore as a result.

Hmmm….had no idea about this. Still waiting for an update for this game has become a forever task especially when every third game is ai generated with senseless plot and characters.

Was this a one-off occurrence or is the dev just woefully bad at estimating his workload?

Palmer used to be good. 2 months between updates for the first year and half. Then he started to give excuses about family, burnout, work, holidays, Donald Trump and everything else you can imagine.

Almost every dev ends up doing the same thing. They get comfortable with the money they have coming in and realize they dont need to work as hard or fast as they have been. Bobbyboy from TEB is following in Palmers footsteps. Now also taking around the 5-6 month mark for each update. When previously he would release updates every 2 months like clockwork. They milk the development time so they can earn triple the money, while taking 3 times as long from what they should take.

This is why I wish more people would appreciate and support ILSProductions, dude has made 3 games back to back to back and releases literally monthly updates with chapters that take around an hour every single time to playthrough. Not only that but whilst hitting every single deadline this year for new chapters, he's also gone back and added a huge amount of content to his 2nd game The Interim Domain. I do his proofreading and I'm always amazed when he drops me the script to go through for the new chapter and it's got TONS of writing in it, all done in one single month. Dude's a legend, seriously.

Not exactly defending the Dev here, but people seem to forget that as VNs mature the complexity increases exponentially. In the beginning there are usually less characters and paths. As the game progresses and more choices are included the development becomes more time consuming. That, at least, is how it has been described by various Devs. Now, you see Devs stick to one path per update - which I personally dislike. Again, not making excuses for the Dev. Frankly, I don’t care how long he takes, just want him to finish.

Even Palmer himself not saying that this is due to complexity of the game making. He clearly stated that this is due to holiday, political tension, life issues and all of those stuff, Palmer clearly said that the previous and this update is a small one, and you don't need Palmer testimony to come to that conclusion because it's short, so I don't get it why you bring out something that even Palmer himself not using as an excuse? while saying "not making excuses for the dev", while clearly you are.

If Palmer read this, he will surely use this for future excuses. lol It's a bad decision in general that you give financial compensation for an on-going product, this reward bad work ethics and scamming, not necessary this project but any project in general.

Exactly. This is one of the few VNs which generate buzz around here whenever there is an update. The dev must be doing something right. Also the dev said that multiple routes involve complex programming. Let’s give them benefit of doubt here.

First, you underscore why the Dev stopped visiting these pages. Second, who gives a crap how long he takes? That’s between him and his donors. Frankly, I wish Devs would make no explantations at all and simply state, “it’s taking longer than expected.” I was just pointing out that development gets more complex as it progresses. Let’s be honest though, it matters not what the reasons are if it does not conform to some internal timeframe of any given person downloading free shit on this site.
