I think most people who play NTR games just play to see suffering of MC, to fill their sadistic desires. Enjoying to see how miserable and pathetic MC, while their extremely hot girl friends or wifes that they don't deserve rightfully stealing by bulls, which they think as themselves.

I think most people most people plays NTR for the corruption aspect tbh, watching how far can the character start to broke their moral values and feeling is most interesting than see a poor fella suffer.
Netori is not that popular, because is harder to see that corruption when the MC is the one doing it, NTR have a lot of subleties on how the character start to fall and is better to see them from the original love interest point of view or from the fallen one POV (mainly because we can see what she fell, or what mental gymnastic she start to do to to validate her cheating), thats a reason because a lot of ntr games ha 2 view points, something that is harder to do when is a netori game, where the focus is corrupt the target.
But even thinking that, NTR hero, one of the most popular NTR games is netori.
I personally believe there are not that many people that self insert into one of the character tbh

Netori is just another form of Male PoV getting chicks.
The most fun for me is as you said, sadistic desires AND female corruption/degradation. Netorase is the worst form of NTR for me. Loses all its charm if the cheated guy asks for it.

Varity is the spice of life, other peoples perspectives are fun to read. Thanks guys. On that note, I like the tragic story telling. Needs plenty of build up, then things start go so wrong, the more believable the contention is the better. I prefer if there is something to salvage of the relationship at the end, so it's not a completely sad story of the end of a relationship, which can add to the tragic nature of stories like this. Carrying on but somehow less than what once was. Marred and regret filled love, still going, a battered testament to the human spirit and the depths of it's stupidity.

Sure a porn game has limitations on what it can tell and what it must present to the reader/player, so it's not that deep. It has to show sex scenes on the regular, meet fetish themes, all with a much higher demand, for the genre, for writing quality. So many stories these days have little stomach for meaningful tragedy.
