the "symptoms" you describe are a problem at the operating system level, not drivers or hardware.no, "read-only" is not enabled.. and it does not prevent the game from overwriting any save with the save from the beginning of the game... I already suspect that I have an unlikely compatibility problem that occurs with a unique hardware configuration
You can also assume that viruses are at work...
You'd better ask the developers for more details. Personally, I don't even have any ideas what could cause such "behavior".
In general, do you "install/copy" a new version over an old one?
Or do you "install/copy" into a separate new folder, and then copy the old "saves" folder into the new folder?
In new versions, the saves folder should be "empty". Otherwise such actions will also break the "system part" of the saves with "separate saves" and after such actions of the user all saves may "break".
