Does anyone have any news about the author, or if he's improved? And is there any plans for a new update?

cmacleod42 is there any chance you will ever overhaul the quest design in this game?
There are too many times where the player is actively punished for doing anything other than following exact instructions or very binary requirements to progress.

For example:

> Ronald tells me to get magic stone and describes exactly how it looks
> Get stone
> Return to Ronald and try and give him stone
> Won't take it
> Go to school and ask teacher where to find magic stones
> Immediately return to Ronald
> Now he will take stone

Part of the issue here is that you are playing the harder option of knowing the town well. If you do not then you cannot access the Park until you speak to Mr Beasley and thus this issue does not happen. The original idea is the Mr Beasley tells you where to look for the stones and is a pre-requisite to visiting the Park. The harder option here removes some of that guide and can have minor issues like this.

I will tweak this a little, unsure the best way possibly just hide the stone until you talk to Mr Beasley but maybe just allow it.

Otherwise there is no plan to change the quest system, this is a fundamental part of the game, and it difficult to change in a mostly complete game.

I don't like the default setting because it's like the MC is an NPC and cannot go places unless he's told to.
With that option enabled he is still stupid and can only follow instructions but at least he is approximately as capable as the mentally handicapped guy that wanders around my neighborhood all day.

Am I the only one who thinks a scene where you're with Davy and Beasley would be cool?
Thing is you have choices there. There are at least 2 different each of Davys and Beasleys so even if that's all of them there'd need to be 4 scenes, not just one...

Nope, you need 8 scenes, the MC may be male or female

sorry for repling to you but its easier this way. Scenes of MC Shower, Bed, Charmed by Beasley 1, 2 and then 3 with Sisters, Charmed By Davy and I think the Futa/gender swap scene could be one for the Witch Bimbo stone NOT sure on that on.
