Yeah, unfortunately. The short version of what happened: The dev had a girlfriend and was "allowed" to make this game to see if he could make a career of it. When it never took off for him, she put her foot down, and he chose her over his game. He's given full permission for anyone who wants to try to continue the game, but nobody's tried that I'm aware of.
