basically, I guess you're asking for "sandbox", but this is a rpg. I don't believe it's supposed to be a sandbox.
No I wasn't. I was asking that things make sense.

And role playing has nothing to do with a structure system. This is something devs and gamers have gotten very wrong for a very long time.

-_- I swear no matter how many times I see "Penny wasn't able to fully pay her taxes, so she had to dip into her personal amount" it physically pains me, especially after already dropping over 300 into her chest! either way this is just a personal issue I keep having because it's easy asf for me to keep getting gold to donate, but I really do hope we can do something about the Mayor and his brat son soon! At the very least that'd at least make it a little bit less annoying.

Have you increased all of the farm, chicken house, mill and continue giving her vegetables?
I'm pretty sure I was making a profit by the second month in game

Just because of lot games use the exact same method doesn't mean it's right. .
This is something devs and gamers have gotten very wrong for a very long time.
Rights and wrongs are relevant when you're discussing facts, not opinions. You liking/disliking something doesn't make it wrong or vice versa.
The dev envisioned a MC who gets the idea to renovate his house (which is a whim) after seeing that he was able to upgrade Emily's (which was a necessity). This is hardly the only situation, or even game where (sub-)quests are interlinked and based of of each other and I see nothing wrong with it.

Just because of lot games use the exact same method doesn't mean it's right. Just like many people can be wrong about something until someone points out the right way to them. It was a major reason I stopped playing the actual video games ages back due to how crap and samey they all were. So I don't understand why you're surprised by this.
You can't tell that you are wrong about this, even though it has been pointed out to you.

Look at the name of the game "a STRUGGLE with sin" Chyos doesn't want the player to have the benefits of a house without being heavily involved with both Emily and Mira. The MC has to chose between one or the other, or jump through more hoops to get involved with both. That entanglement happens through building Emily the orphanage. Getting involved with both is playing with the SIN aspect of it. You could complete remove any temptation of being entangled with Emily / Mira, Penny / Henry, or Kate / Claire if you could just concentrate on getting enough cash to get the keys to your house, then only have to worry about the coin needed for your house. Getting the need for the orphanage is related to the reward of having your own house.

You are literally crying about rewards in a game coming at a price. If you could just renovate your house right away, why even have to renovate it in the first place? Why not already have it with a good bed, bathroom, kitchen and maid quarters? Why stop there, why not just already have the Orphanage stocked with 20 beds from the very beginning?

You don't have to like the game, no one is saying that. But it is extremely laughable that you don't realize that it was thoroughly planned out. That it was just bad programmed without Chyos realizing at, but since you came along he will realize that error and fix it?

Have you played this game at all? Look at what it takes to get into Carmen's pants, or to complete the monastery, max out your Merc's, etc. This game is built on labyrinths of triggers that flip switches that are unrelated in the micro but fit together in the macro.

You don't have to like it, and you can keep not playing, this game is clearly not for you. But it really is wrong headed to think your complaints happened by accident. They are the game that Chyos is making. It is apparent in every aspect of the game. You can't get the mines open without having saved Emily from the bandits. You can't have sex with Verena without getting Corven a rabbit's foot. Hardly any reward happens without a whole bunch of unrelated things happening first.

Same for me, I have the chicken coop stocked. I keep her stocked in wheat, and she always has a full load of vegetables to take to Lucien, yet I still get that notice every other month or so... I ignore it, knowing her savings is full, but yet I feel that twinge as well.

To Lucien? How does Penny then get the money? Is there something to do with the livestock? I see the notices but don't ever do anything about it? I'll probably just keep her chest full and ignore the micro managing, but I am interested in the intended mechanic.

now i have athia asking me to renovate house but how any idea chios
Okay Budman, I will talk you through this.

So you have Athia asking you to renovate your house? Not her room? Where is she located? Is she still by the tavern by day and church by night? Or is she in your house's storage room?

Where are you at with renovating Emily's house into a Orphanage? Is the second floor built including just one bed?

Have you made any renovations to your house?

--

A few times I have made the mistake of having placed an order with Roderic for twenty beds for Emily, before having asked him to complete my house. If he is still making beds for Emily he won't be available to make renovations to the MC's house until his order is complete.

I have never seen Athia ask for me to renovate my house. But I have also never aligned with her, I always align with Isha (Gwen). I also have never watched her get mistreated outside the church until I have my house fully built. I don't get prompted to renovate her room until after she has moved into my storage.

If she is in your storage, then the only thing keeping Roderic from furnishing her room would be if he is still working on orders.

If she is at the Tavern / Church and you haven't made any renovations to your house, you need to go to Emily's guide to see how to get the Orphanage built, after it is built you can then renovate your house.

Nope. You just check how many eggs are in the coop. Pick them up and put them in another basket: Penny will sell them.
(you won't see anything: you just have to keep on clicking on the chicken coop and decide how many eggs you want to pick up and sell).

I mean your entitled your own opinion and all but like half of the village storylines start because your poor and homeless so people offer you work. Then the storyline progresses because you're doing work. You also really don't need your house tbh since so many li just let you sleep with them in their bed whenever you want. I only upgraded unlocked it when I had to to continue mira's storyline, and only upgraded it when I had to for athia's storyline

There should be an option to ask Roderic to make a room for Athia. The option isn't there until Athia has moved in.

Just a heads up about a thing that has tripped me up a few times. If you don't trigger her to make you a dinner, you can give her a good meal each day which will raise her affection, you only need to get it to ten. That way you can do it on your own time and not commit to eating at your place at 4 to 6 pm.

But in order to get her to cook you have to make sure the fire under your pot is lit, and then when you talk to her and she asks for food, you tell her its her job to cook.

Also, make sure you have taken a bath so you know its up and running, then you need to tell her that she can take a bath.

Where I have forgot how it works a few times is that I have taken a bath, then followed her quest up to where it says to take a bath with her, but she never gets in the bath, it's because I hadn't gone to her room and told her she can use it.

If she is going upstairs after dinner instead of the bath, its because she hasn't been told yet.

Also, also, a lot of her late stage quest items require waiting a full 24 hours before its available without it saying to wait a day. Like after a bath it will say "confront her in her room" you can go to her room, and talk to her, but the actual confronting won't be available until the following night.

Yep, and it stopped saying it immediately after I posted my comment xD dat timing! Still though, like I said it was a personal issue-like an OCD issue-I just didn't like seeing. It felt like a slap in the face for just trying but it worked itself out so it's all good now! Devs have gone outta their way to bring the nightmare of the realism behind paying taxes into this game with her content, and I gotta say I am A LOT more impressed than frustrated with it so good for them!
