Still has a lot to give. Really hopeful that this game doesn't get abandoned because the plot hasn't got to the grand scheme yet but it's already full of events even in just one region.

There's tons of fucking around but it's not just that. This feels like a proper rpg with farming/hunting/crafting and some other stuff involved. And the branching paths are thought-out between love/corruption and the optional NTR. Your choices and actions have real impact on how you want your harem to be. There are a whole lot of characters and most have their unique personalities/backgrounds and paths to complete.

The problem with this game is that you'd really need a walkthrough/guide to make the most out of it because this is a complex game. This is a grinding game especially at the very start. Leveling up is tiring early on but the points you earn are needed because they make your gameplay less grindy. That's why you need a guide so you don't have to waste in leveling stats that you don't need for the time being. You also have to manage hunger and income. Combat is done solo early on before you could actually have two characters joining your party. Combat is okay. Nothing spectacular but it gets the job done. It's only later once you slowly gain progress that they become an easy routine compared when you first started out.

Character models and graphics are a mixed bag. Some hot. Some good. Some are not to my liking(just bad). It does looked like game is made 15 or more years ago but some characters and animations(yes, a whole lot of them) are very beautiful, sultry, and erotic. If it's one thing that the dev Chyos show promise is that he/she is willing to improved the models(like Claire, Maui, and that gal who live south of Penny). Here's hoping he/she would continue to improved more. Like Emily, Penny's nose and Tia in my opinion.

A pretty solid RPG with a really impressive amount of content.
Animations are pretty basic loops that seem a bit janky sometimes, but together with the story/relationships do get pretty spicy - I like that the women can orgasm multiple times during an animation loop.
One word of warning: this game is pretty difficult in terms of getting the scenes you want. I would personally recommend playing using the walkthrough as I had a lot more fun this way.
If you want to have a relaxing fap with a decent background story, then use the Cheatbook (option available in-game - not a mod).

Overall, I liked it and would recommend giving it a go! I think most would enjoy it

The game started really good. Actual gameplay, nice storyline, lively little village where the townsfolk actually have a daily routine and a job. Overall good world building.

After about 6 hours in I started to really get annoyed by the repetetive grind of the same events, while skipping the dialogue because I was tired reading the same stuff over and over, but by that missing new dialogue when I passed some relationship threshold.

What even more annoying and made me drop the game was the ****ing bad RNG.
Damn man, this game doesn't favor the player at all.. I don't know what I did wrong by I died so many times to wolves just by missing 3/4 of my attacks. Or for example failing to skin a rabbit time after time after time, or when in the hunting ground, the game just spams me with orc parties. Well this was really frustrating and just prolongs the game unnecessarily without any new value for the player. It wasn't worth the time anymore.

I had a lot of fun with this game. This is thanks to the fact that there is a very detailed walkthrough to guide you. Without it, the game would be so hard to play that I probably wouldn't bother playing it.

And even though some of the renders and animations could have been a bit more polished, this is still a terrific and very creative erotic RPG game. If you don't mind using a walkthrough to help you out, you definitely should give it a try. When it comes down to RPG porn, I would even dare to say that this is one the best you're gonna find.

Don't worry about being unpleasantly surprised with NTR while you're playing if that's not your thing. You can completely turn it off in the settings (a very sensible choice by the developer, since I'm not a fan of NTR myself). But otherwise, the kink is there for those who like it, but it mostly happens as a consequence of bad choices or failures. Playing with NTR off or not messing up guarantees a harem scenario instead and this is referenced in some dialogues.

I also appreciate the option to use cheats to avoid grinding, although they are not that much of a pain in this one. Cheats can of course break the game, so try to be smart about it.

Edit: Even though I have seen some better renders and animations and the walkthrough is a necessity, I have been playing this game way too much to give any less than 5 stars. It's an addictive game, definitely worth your time.



Edit (October 2022, version 0.5.1.0): Originally a high-rated review, but this game has lost its way since then.

First of all, this is a surprisingly demanding game for an old machine. Surprising because it's a little RPGM game and the graphics look "antiquated" at best. So you might experience some lag and stuttering, especially in the main village if your computer is not enough. Otherwise, you wouldn't notice a thing.

A lot of people don't pay attention to this game because of the RPGM sandbox grind aspect. But as I said in my previous review, the game comes with in-game cheats. The animations and graphics do look janky, but you can look past that as well because of the story and context.

Those are not the main issues. The main issue here for the edited review is the development process of the game. But before you ask, this is not the case of a "milker": the developer drops updates faster than the average you find around here.

But the story? Gets absolutely nowhere. At this rate, this game will be finished in the next decade. A lot of the patrons' NTR ideas have taken over and shifted focus.

Yes, NTR. You see, A Struggle With Sin operates with polls on its Patreon page and Discord server to determine the next course of action. Many of the supporters are only interested in seeing more and more of this particular fetish, extremely prevalent, for instance, in the story arc of the love interest named "Tia" and her village, "Rumah". Other characters and locations get often neglected. The non-NTR part is often limited to new angles and new animations of the things that already exist, just so it can be said that "there are no purely NTR-driven updates".

The developer's extreme catering to his main audience stagnated the game, the main plot feels shallow for something that came out in 2019, since he spends more and more time on this side stuff (a "bonus scene" is the promise for the highest tier on his Patreon's page after all). As I'm writing this, he decided to give the bonus part of his updates a break precisely because of all this, which is bad management, to say the least.

It's very disappointing. I give two stars instead of one because I can recommend the game for the people that are: 1) NTR fans; 2)Don't mind the graphics and the RPG aspect, with cheats or not; 3) Care about the NTR part above all the other aspects of the game.

Otherwise, I don't recommend it anymore.

I shall be straight forward with the reader as a backer of this game I will have some positive biases to the game, but I assure you this is one of the best RPGM game on this site.

Pros:
1) Some of the best character work you`ll see outside of a certain being a dik. Almost all the cast of characters in this game both the ladies and men have a certain undeniable charm too them both the supporting characters and the antagonists, but without a doubt you will have a number of characters that you will genuinely at the end of a playthrough.

2) Good implementation of various mechanics such as eating, resting, hunting and even building so the player feels like he or she has earned what they have gotten, not just breezed through the whole game and that just increases the overall satisfaction by a thousand.

3) Great porn, ahhh yes what we all are here for this game has it all, NTR and Non NTR, all the girl troupes we like childhood friend, a shit ton of milfs, that one bitchy girl that warms up to you, so on so forth but you`ll find a ton to wank off too you sick pervs.

4) A great griping story of gods, revenge, mystery about the MC past.

5) Great work ethic from the creator rarely misses any deadline and that is saying something in this industry

Cons:
1) One of the clear cons is the RPG element of the game, it isnt as in-depth as something like a roundscape or black souls and due to the current lack of enemy variety the game can sometimes and this a very few sometimes become stale and feel like its dragging on.

2) Not as many kinks as you would think so you might not find something you are into.

When you look at this game at what it was at the start I would 100% have said this isnt worth it but now all in all one fantastic game and I would argue one of the best RPGM games on the site where the creator has improved 10 times over the course of the game and it reflects in every part of the game, while my cons are knit pickings these exist and I am sure some people feel them more than other in there playthroughs but I am also sure they will be addressed.

At first glance this game seems like a downgrade version of Peasant's Quest, I gave it a try only because I have a medieval fetish

Turns out the game is actually wonderful in many aspects.

The character is very down to earth, the realistic medieval life, reminding me of Battle for Luvia.

The story is similar to Peasant's Quest, guy meets a witch, then sleep the whole village

The ntr and other sinful things reminds me of The Last Barbarian, so dark

The game would be so good if it has top-tier renders & real-life actresses models like Whores of Thrones.

However ... the game is quite bad in art designs. The models are stale and crappy, way too coarse. The renders are like a ps2 game. The animation is okay-ish but it won't save the low-budget models. Imo the game could achieve greatness if it gets an overhaul in the future. But now it's just above average. Still good tho, so I subscribed on patreon.

This game is really damn good, with interesting story and characters, good art, fun gameplay and mechanics.
The only reason why i give this game 4/5 instead of 5/5 is how gated the porn part is. The rest of the game is great, but for most characters the porn is avaible only at a specific time and place, additionaly i dislike the format in which it's presented, but thats just a personal prefference.
Game 5/5, porn 3-4/5, overall 4/5. I would really recommend it.

Pro:
-Tons of content, took me 20 hours to go through everything using the walkthrough.
-Great writing, there is noticeable attention to detail with characters reacting depending on order of quests done, party members with you, corruption levels, etc.. all in all plenty of variation to keep you saving and loading to see the different branches
-Gameplay has depth with plenty of room for further development/expansion. Also comes with a cheat mode if you don't care for gameplay.
-Large variety of girls with distinct personalities.
Cons:
-Saving can take as much as 15 seconds versus the near instant of most other RPGM games.
-Renders could be better, they can feel low-res lacking anti-aliasing.
-Some characters need reworks or at least some touch-ups.: Lydia is plain ugly, Penny could is use a nose job. And the MILFs (outside of Katherine) are closer to GILFs.
-Due to its branching nature, this is hard (at least without frequest save scumming and spending significant time replaying sections) to do guideless especially when aiming for optimal outcomes.
-Lacks a skip button for conversations

4 stars seems fair and overall definitely worth the time despite it's faults. Definitely in my Top 5 RPGM (and will probably be in yours as well). The only reason it's not a 5 is due to render quality (which is a downgrade when coming from Peasant Quest, and other Ren'Py titles).

This is definitely a porn game, and it is filled to the brim with fucking. How much fucking, how far that fucking goes, how you get to it, and the types of fucking, are all up to the player, which is among the many reasons I love this game.

Every choice you make has an impact. You can do what every game protagonist does and play a complete douchebag, or a manwhore with a heart of gold. You could also play anything in between, based on your preference.


The gameplay is secondary to the epic story that the player can participate in through their choices, but it, too, is implemented well enough to say that this is the best porn RPG I have ever played.

It'll make you think at certain points, but if you're feeling sluggish, it's damn near impossible to miss with the walkthrough.

Chyos pours their heart and soul into this game, and it shows. If you want fantastic story and gameplay with your porn, try this game, it will not disappoint you.

This one has excellent content, the flow makes it difficult to see all the Time sensitive events without cheating (Mia). In the current version, neither the in game guide or the provided walkthrough provide enough information fulfill several of the quests or to pick the order the quests need to be performed in after the first few.

All that said, the game has excellent content and a decent storyline.

Like the rpg system in this one the best. Very intuitive and the grind is rewarding unlike many other similar rpgs out there. Lots of options and the branching story is simple yet engaging. Probably one of the few that actually does the ntr and vanilla routes correctly.

Top story. Top amount of content. Top everything.
Its just a superb game. To see all content so far (0.4.4.0a) you need, if you play without cheats, around 30+ hours.

The only bad thing about the game are the animations and character designs. They could be better.

A surprisingly good life simulator with well written characters, world, and plot. You start off as an effectively homeless rookie hunter just trying to earn a place to sleep and a meal to eat. But after a few hours, I started dealing with bandits who tried to kidnap the MC's friend's Mom, helping the THICC wood cutter reconnect with her heritage, and plowing the field of a very lonely woman (while also working my way into her heart). I ended up as invested in these women's stories as I was in getting in bed with them.

My only complaint is that it's a bit of a grind to your first proper make out session with any of the romanceable woman. Except with around a dozen love interests, a corruption mechanic, both a love and NTR route for many of the women, and constantly expanding arcs for plot and characters, the wait was often worth it. If you need to speed through the game then there's already a cheat book and very helpful walk-through.

Wow, what a great game! I've must've played nearly 50 hours already.
Engaging story, decent animations, great characters, many ways to interact with and corrupt those characters... what else could you ask for?.

A Struggle with Sin is without a doubt one of the best h-games I've had the luck to play.

Visuals are not the best, but the gameplay, story, dialogues are one of my favourites in this genre.

The walktrough is a must have thing, since some quests are not that straightforward. Or at least not for me.
The walktrough is well written, and easy to use.

There are in-game cheats so you don't have to grind, or spend a lot of time to complete some quests if you only want to experience the story.

So far with its current content it looks promising. Hope dev.team keeps going this direction their going.

As far as gameplay itself, well it has some intresting events based on your choices and option preferences. Dont wana spoil something just play it as far as you can get and thats it.

Gameplay is mostly sandbox style managing your stats and grinding points with girls. The grind doesn't feel that bad because you are always getting a little different dialogue to grind. Occasionally you get quests to go on. Combat is simple and easy.
Porn scenes consist of a few renders and an animation or two. The renders are bad, the animations are hideous. They look like something out of Fallout 1 (not exaggerating). Descriptions are fine, but don't make up for it. The worst part here is how long it takes to start getting scenes - I played for 3 hours and only got the two scenes from the prologue.

Even if you're the type of player who enjoys these sandbox grinding games, I'm sure you can find one where the graphics aren't from the last century.


+ What story there is isn't bad. Same goes for the writing.

Really nice game. It has lots of action and game to it, it is not just a good porn game but it is also a good game. Lots of different characters to play with and full of interesting side stories. I did not experience many bugs and there is a bit of grinding involved, but it is ultimately a fun experience

Excellent Game, so much fun to play and can't stop playing it. Can wait to See more interesting Story in the Future. And by the way gonna love the Story, it also have a wonderful adventure.

I played the game for about 30 hours. The game includes grinding but not much. Has a good story, excellent sex scenes, well written female characters and good romance. NTR can be avoided (I think one of the important points). There is not much innovation in combat, but I liked the mechanics very much. And if you ask me, I would expect more kinks in this kind of game. but I think it will come in the future. To sum it up, it's a great game.

After almost three and a half years, I decided to play this wonderful game again. I can say that it was definitely worth the wait. There is so much newly added content that I have been playing the game for over a month now. I played for about 75 hours, doing everything without resorting to any cheats or shortcuts. And I enjoyed every minute of it. This game... its like one of the main stones of 3D RPGM games. I don't know what to say. A beautiful and progressive story, gorgeous and sexy characters, hot animated sex scenes, different gameplay elements... I'm literally lost in the game. I think I will have to be patient for at least 2 more years to play this amazing game again with the same pleasure and different content. Because at this rate, it doesn't look like the game will be completed anytime soon.

Anyways, must play.
