Getting Closer To 0.6.0.5
Good afternoon,
the week has passed quickly again, I'm still in the middle of writing the story, but I'd like to give you a brief overview of what I've achieved in the last few days.
I started the week making new battle animations for the cultists. The idea behind this is that the MC disguised as a cultist should also perform fights. This already bothered me a lot in the goblin village... The fact that I wanted to do fights there but at the same time didn't want to make any additional fight animations for the MC (which is why he's the only one who arrives there fully clothed). But this time it wouldn't work if he revealed himself, so there was no way around making the animations and at least I can also use the animations for the enemy cultists.
Next, I reworked the existing map of the ruins (which I finished last week). As I already mentioned in my report last week, I want to design the story so that this village is rebuilt by the MC. For this it was necessary to add all the existing buildings there as separate objects. Similar to the barn in Arenfield or the camp where new objects such as the training ground were added. This time, however, the whole thing takes on a much larger scale, which is why it took me considerably more time to add a large part of the objects there separately. Also there is still a wintermode missing for the map, I will most likely add that with the 0.6.1.0 update.
Last week I also said I had to think on some last missing details. Over the weekend I then came up with a solution in regards of the connecting the loose ends including the involvement of Elisabeth. It now all fits perfectly together (at least in my head). Because of that I also restructured some of the events that I had already written so that they would better fit into the overall story. The writing of the story in general continued, of course, and now that the last ambiguities have been cleared up, I find it much easier to write.
I've also worked on animations for Arianna, edited images and done background renders (some of them today). I've now planned out a new scene for Arianna although there will probably be more transition images needed which I have to make next week. The scene in general will probably take a lot of work that I hope to get done next week.
Today I'm mainly going to continue writing on the story, as I'm in a good flow for that right now. I'm currently cautiously optimistic about the 0.6.0.5 release next Friday, but as I've often emphasized, I don't want to make any binding commitments (it wouldn't be the first time I've overestimated the workload).
That is all for now, I wish you all a nice weekend!
