How to resurrect Frank the friendly guard
Many of us missed the secret option to save Frank. In my case, I just forgot about that good man cuz I resumed playing the game after quite a while. After a long, unsuccessful search and trying out various save editors, I decided to use a cheat menu I had already used in the past - "RPG Maker MV Cheat Menu Plugin" from GitHub. It turned out to be much easier than I expected. It can be done in any point of the story, even after recruiting 5 guards for Arenfield.
Here's how to do it :-
After successfully installing the plugin, go to the "Switches" section of the menu. Long press 5 (or whatever key it says to navigate to the next switch) until you find the one named "Saved Frank", then change its status from "false" to "true" and don't forget to save right after you do it.
You'll find it near various Lyvia related switches, such as "Lyvia captured Imwayn," "Lyvia in group," "Lyvia recruitable," "Lyvia grant rest," etc.

Correct. And the walkthrough for 0.5.9.1 is also the latest walkthrough you'll have available until we get the next full release, which in this case will be 0.6.0.0/0.6.0.1

You don't even need to cheat to get a Healing Potion to save Frank, do Tia's Quest, then Fate of Rumah then fight the Orcs by Gurtak they should drop a Healing Potion, then you save that for Frank. Or another way is Arianna when she gets captured, you locate the Cult and kill a cult member or sneak to open a chest to get a Healing Potion.
What's the point of having saved Frank? is it really that important because I'm like late game like level 70 of grinding orc parties in the fortress and did I miss something important?

This is much quicker and easier: break into Arenfield's city guard (where Imawyn's cell is) at night. In one of the rooms you will find a healing potion.
Oh well I mean, later you get so much money you don't really have to worry about that the game is not THAT difficult in that regard

To answer your question: Yes, it's normal. You have nothing to worry about.
The file size of some of your saves is weird.
Maybe a dumb question, but are you sure you extracted the game before playing?
Also, it's been a long time, but another thing to try would be to save the game once first before copying over the saves from your older version of the game. I don't think this should be necessary though, since new versions of the game already come with save anyway. Perhaps you forgot to make sure to also copy over the config and global files from your old save folder?
Most ppl point to Peasant's Quest, which is decent. NLT games (Lust Epidemic, Treasure of Nadia, etc.) are also based on RPG Maker and use 3d assets as well, though not as heavy on the gameplay and choices as A Struggle With Sin. Demon Deals is another decent RPG Maker, but uses 2D cartoon art. I guess there's also My New Life REVAMP, by Beggar of Net, but that's pretty buggy and I'm not sure I can recommend that. If you want better suggestions, you'll have to be more specific about what you're looking for.
