Uhm... no that wasn't the "curse" the Orcs got humanized by combining the blessings of all 3 human gods.
The "curse" is a side effect of being infected by the essence of Isha (one of said gods).

They were created by Grumthul... Isha said that the human gods originally had not the power to create an entire new race and had to convert Orcs in a slow process to create humanity.
Gromthul at the time was much more powerful, but wether or not he altered an existing race had not been revealed... not sure if we could learn about it either, I mean who'd teach us (?), as we are enemies of Gromthul.

If anything I presume Dark Elves are the closest option for restructuring aswell, as Elves whorshiped the Goddess of hunt and nature.
I mean there could be a chance that Demons were Gromthuls ultimate Champions and Highpriests, as far as we know they resided in his santuaries... but it's also possible that they were summoned as a display of might of Gromthul and used as Guards.
