I opened a gyu game that I had in hand and it had 420 maps files. This one has currently 120. I don't know the limit but I pretty much doubt he'll reach it anytime soon.

It's hardcoded to 999 maps in the engine. Also I know it won't be reached anytime soon. Just saying if you have a long term project, you have to think long term as well. Was curious if Chyos had ever remarked what they intend to do when they do eventually reach that point. Every update exponentially adds more maps, especially as we start moving out of the base town and open up the other cities. Every house and shop is a map (or more if it has multiple floors), ever city area is at least one map (or more, since Rumah has two sections to it), every dungeon can have multiple maps, and so on. Of course Chyos can also stretch the number if they make clever uses of parallaxes.
The proper answer, since you are the very first person to bring this up in this thread, is that -if he does have any- he never shared it on official announcements.
"Official" - around 60%, the main issue is City, where will be final part for most of routes/quest paths. Plus some stuff for elves and for spying in enemy army to save princess/family/kingdom.
So that means 4-5 more years or so.
A Struggle with Sin and Peasants Quest are doing the arnold handshake from predator.So that means 4-5 more years or so.
