A Review Of 2025

Good afternoon,

First of all, I want to wish you all a happy new year! Aside from yesterday, I have already been working diligently again for the rest of the week, which I will go into in a moment. I would also like to reflect on the past year and talk a little about the coming one.

I started the week by reworking the animations for Sabrina’s doggy scene and creating additional background renders for Gwen’s hut, so that her new animation can also run there. In the process, I completely reworked the entire framework of the scene in Gwen’s hut to better align it with the one in the MC’s house. I also added a quick save plugin (you can now quick save with F8 and load with F9). When using this, the autosave will always be overwritten by the quick save.

Unfortunately, my attempt to replace status messages (pop-up windows that must be closed with Enter) with notifications that disappear on their own did not work out as planned. This caused unexpected crashes, so I have removed that code for now until I have time to further experiment with it and eliminate the issues.

I have also finally started working on the actual scene with Sabrina and Athia. A large portion of the animations is already finished, and I hope to complete the scene next week. Of course, this now comes well after Christmas, which takes away some of the festive flair, but that is unfortunately something I cannot change.

That’s it for this week. Now, as I do every year, I would like to look back at the past year.
It began with the final work on the update for the goblins and Bianca. The biggest challenge there was adding Bianca as an additional party member, which caused some issues at first but could ultimately be resolved. Overall, I especially enjoyed creating a different atmosphere with the goblin village and the deep mine compared to what is usually found in the game.

After that came the work on Imawyn’s bonus scene at the camp. I also used this opportunity to redesign Imawyn’s outfit and completely rework the party at the camp. This required breaking up and remodeling the entire structure of the scene. On that occasion, I also added Bianca to the scene, even though she does not yet have any interactions there aside from dancing on her own. Overall, this bonus scene was good preparation for Imawyn’s update, which is already waiting in the content poll. In the future, I would like to continue working on Imawyn’s love route, as it currently feels a bit underdeveloped, and further differentiate it from the corruption route. I hope her update will give me the opportunity to do that.

Next came the cultist update and the continuation of Arianna’s story. I had originally planned quite a lot for this, but ultimately had to scale back because it simply would have become too time-consuming. Even so, this update took several months, which I had not anticipated. I also have to say that I am not entirely happy with Arianna’s furry animations. I ran into the limits of the engine, which resulted in the scenes not looking the way I had envisioned. Because of that, I kept the number of animations low and definitely want to rework and improve them in the future.
Aside from that, redesigning Darkholt and implementing many flexible objects that can be built up over time was a challenge. The minigame added for this received mixed reactions, so I reduced it to a minimum, allowing those who enjoy it to play it while letting others skip it entirely. As mentioned, I would have liked to continue or even fully conclude the story there, but given the time required for the update and my dissatisfaction with the furry animations, it was probably for the best to leave it as is, so that I can properly conclude it later with better visuals and a fresh mindset.

While I was still working on the cultist update, I also had a short summer vacation. After taking two weeks completely off, I used the remainder of that “vacation month” to finally design Lyvia’s new outfit and rework the campfire scene at the camp. I also added a few smaller adjustments, some animations, and the scene for Tia and Lyvia.
After Arianna’s update came the work on Katherin’s bonus scene. Like Imawyn’s scene, this turned out to be a massive workload. I severely underestimated it, but as with everything involving Rumah, it became a complicated jungle of variables with different paths that all needed to be brought to a clean conclusion. Of course, the scene itself could not be neglected either, which resulted in several new animations and an even further expanded campfire scene that was already quite dense to begin with.

And then it finally happened: work on Kirlic began, something I had been looking forward to for a long time. I know that some of you still believe that earlier storylines not connected to Kirlic should be fully completed first, but I really wanted to introduce Kirlic, as it is very important for the main storyline. That is also why it was important to me that the player can travel there without involving Kate. However, this required restructuring the existing quest setup. At first, I considered building a completely alternative route, but ultimately decided against it to avoid making everything too branched and labor-intensive.
Working on the city itself has been a lot of fun, and I am looking forward to filling it with even more life in the future. In this update, I also added the first option to invite Tia, Bianca, and Lyvia, together or separately, to the MC’s house. The idea behind this scene was to make it reusable for other inns where the group might stay together. However, I am not quite finished with the scene yet, and final touches will follow this year along with the rest of the update.

Phew… that was already quite a lot of text. I hope there is still someone out there actually reading this ;)
Just a short outlook on upcoming updates after Kirlic. Based on how things look right now, Tia will most likely win the race for the 0.6.3.0 update. In her update, I will probably also address the final conflict in Rumah with Dasan, assuming you are on that route, as well as add further interactions with the grey orc tribe that Tia may have taken over as queen. Implementing Tia’s pregnancy will likely also be fairly extensive. Naturally, there should be appropriate animations for that as well, and I hope I can stage them in a way that does the whole topic justice.

After that, Julia’s update will most likely be next, which is something I have also been anticipating for quite some time. For this one, it is important to me to finally implement the notice board next to the inn, as well as time-limited events happening around Arenfield. This is something I had planned since the very beginning of development but that has so far been almost completely neglected, aside from Emily’s abduction. And of course there will also be the wedding itself, scenes with Julia in the house, and the continuation of Giron’s storyline. There will be a lot to do there, but I think I can somehow pull it all together.

We will see what comes after, and of course there will also be new bonus scenes which you can vote for.
I want to thank all of you for continuing to be part of this journey this year and for making my work on this game possible in the first place.

It means everything to me, and I will do my best to keep providing you with regular updates this year as in the years before.
With that said, I wish you all a nice weekend!

I think the game is takeing alot of time for the update , is this because chyos is the one and only developer for the game or there is another reason ?

Check the campfire in the Hunting Grounds, the zone where Marcus take you in the intro of the game.
Also, you will save time if you check the Walkthrough.

Go to the hunting zone, click on the campfire to get the charcoal pen.
