Don't use the unlock gallery feature...it literally tells you it will break the game and for some memories it actually breaks them and the game is stuck, also there's loads more of scenes on the beach but when you unlock gallery mode no one on the beach can actually be talked to, to trigger the scenes. NPCs just standing there, where scenes should happen.

This is basically because Japanese (and I think Chinese and maybe Korean as well from what I've seen of machine translated media from those languages) is a very contextual language and often omits the pronouns entirely. So when translating to English where a pronoun is rarely omitted, unless you're using an AI translator and the entire context of the script, chances are the machine is just guessing randomly which pronoun it should use. The thing that I find interesting is I feel it frequently flips them consistently ("he" becomes "she" and "she" becomes "he") which has always baffled me. But it's probably a confirmation bias. When it's consistent I'm more likely to notice than when it's clearly random.
