I personally do like the that the mom is fucked up because it adds an interesting dimension to the the whole mommyporn thing.

Just like I find it interesting that the Allaway storyline actually has some consequences for dating your teacher. I, too, don't really need a "happy rainbow fairytail" ALL the time.
