Jesus the main story line needs pauses in between so we can opt out and do side stuff like "Talk to this person about specific thing to continue" and not just "Go downstairs" which is messing up the side stories

Just came across this game, what's the gist of the development? Has this been in development for almost 8 years and it's still in alpha?
I saw a previous post that says they're aiming to release a full version in February? Does the team normally hit their target for updates?

Play card games in the backroom of the comic book shop.
The devs have been incredibly consistent in getting an update every two months. However, those updates became less and less complete over time. I’m not sure if anyone here has even played the last 5+ updates given how incredibly lacking they were.
I do trust the devs to actually wrap it up soon, but I fully expect them to take massive shortcuts wherever they can.
If you haven’t played the game, it’s worth it, in my opinion. There is a lot of content, just not as much as one might expect after 8 years. Be sure to enable the cheats, though, because that lets you unlock the map if you are softlocked for some reason. That is rare, but there have been some bad interactions between different routes that could lock you out of progressing. (The computer in the MC’s room can be used to forcibly advance or go back steps in any of the routes. Again, it is rare, but it does happen.)
A couple of the character routes are complete and, in my opinion, fun. As of the most recent updates, there should be these complete routes, roughly in descending length:
Sister, Mother, Teacher, Principal
MomxSis threesome routes 1+2 (sometimes doesn’t start despite being unlocked, see the guide.)
Comic Book Girl, Lifeguard
The last two of these were still incomplete when I played them, so I have no idea how well they work now.
Holy hell this is still getting updates? I remember this being one of the first games I tried on this site around 6 years ago. at some point, you've surely got to either finish or give up, and v0.55 after 8 years feels like it should be the second option

I would say if you like the art style then youll probably enjoy it. The actual gameplay still has very rough edges and really feels like a VN that came out years ago despite still being in development.
For me the redeeming qualities are the art and the mom

I don’t think so.
I had that issue once before… I don’t recall how I solved it, though. It’s not a required amount of time, though. He should give it back after a few days. For some reason, the dev often likes specifying a specific day of the week or time of day for events, so I guess you could randomly try it at different times in hope that it works?
Pretty sure this only triggered in the afternoon/evening and only during the week, or something like that. Maybe the dev simply broke the code again, though…
How did you encounter that bug? Or did you simply look through the files?
The guide has a big list of every character you can meet. It only counts if the character is added to your phone list, so you may want to check if anyone is missing. (The stepmother of the guy friend sometimes takes several meetings to count, for some reason.)
