Anytime. I never did explain how I did it though.
I done something similar to a render of my own just yesterday. I can't render three characters in a reasonable amount of time, so instead, I rendered the two guys on the left in one image. Then I rendered the right most two characters (man with goatee and woman on the right) in a second image. I simply CTRL+click the EYE to make a character vanish so their geometry is not loaded for the render. When I am done, I edit the left most image , cropping off the right section where the female will be, then I load the right most image (male + female on the right) into an image editor and make the leftmost image (with the right half cropped off) a layer above it so the two images combine to contain all three characters. Flatten the layers down and save as your final image...
