Thanks yes I agree that the take down was targeted... Dylan haters or just critics... don't care about critics if the feedback is constructive but the hypocrisy of the take down just pissed me off.. The best audience for the comics is here but I can't stomach the bullshit of forum politics..

Uk my friend and I was lucky to get a 3070ti for £720 or 840.71 Euros3090!!!! not sure what part of the world you are based in mate but I'm hard pressed finding a 3060 under 1k...

Just done some looking and no you did get a very good price on that one... Just asking but did you weigh up cores verses vid Ram when you were purchasing? Reason im asking is that there are cheaper alternatives with less cores but more Ram that allows larger scenes to be processed by the GPU... im looking at GTX3060 with 12gb vs RTX3070 with more cores but 8GB memory...

At the time no I didn't check but I had waited a long time to get one and then the 3070ti popped up and it was a good price so I went for it

I am torn between memory vs cores as more cores will give faster processing but more ram allows larger scenes to be processed wholly by the gpu which is still alot faster than I currently have available.. If the card was for Gaming I would think cores over memory is more important but for a render rig im leaning the other way.. anyone else out there have any thoughts?

If there is not enough memory on the GPU , DAZ will try to switch to the CPU (so I cut large images)

Yes this is the issue I have been having as well.... This has been steering me towards more memory on the card as being the better criteria to focus on with the choice of gpu.

Yours is a question of bottlenecks, my friend.
Theoretically, a 64-bit processor with allowing 52-bit address spaces could fully make use of 4,194,304 GB of RAM [ (2^52/2^30) = 2^22 GB]. All this realistically means is that you could add RAM indefinitely and continue to see performance gains on the PC end. The limitation is how much can you fit in the DIMM slots available which I believe would be 128 GB (old information), and how much RAM the system is configured to recognize.
If memory serves, a recent article I read said that a GeForce RTX Graphics sees performance gains at least up to 28 GB... I'm being pulled away from the computer. I will talk more later.
