I don't think it would be ok for L&P, aborted event from creativity perspective is like interrupted sex, it annoys everyone and it's possible for him to lose a wave he is riding during development. I assume that his development process isn't straightforward, sometimes he has to return back and make some adjustments to previous scenes to fit them better together. So cutting event in the middle isn't the option imho, cutting between events without keeping half day periods is possible.

It could be updated whenever a major event happens and once that event is completed. Updates each 4/6 weeks.
