I don't understand this. How can you draw the conclusion you're drawing and then decide that you'll only drop support if the next 2 updates take more than 5 months? Either you're disgusted with the development and you can't support it, or you're ok with what's happening and you'll continue to support it. What about supporting this game makes you feel good?

I like the game that's why I'm supporting it. I hate the time it takes though to completion. 1 day 2 years means that the 17 remaining days will take 34 years... if you are 18 you have to wait till you go 52 to finish the game... come on...!!!

I like the game that's why I'm supporting it. I hate the time it takes though to completion. 1 day 2 years means that the 17 remaining days will take 34 years... if you are 18 you have to wait till you go 52 to finish the game... come on...!!!

But these two points are incongruous. If you like the game and support it, then you are literally giving your approval to the development philosophy. If you think that 34 years is unacceptable, then you shouldn't support this game. And we know that it's not going to get better, and even if L&P accomplishes your threshold of getting the next two updates out in five months...that does nothing to substantially reduce the 34 years required to finish the game.

So I'm just perplexed how you can sit here and hold both positions simultaneously. I supported the game but stopped once I realized how unacceptable the development was. Once it was clear to me there was no sense in continuing my support for another day because I knew that this was not behavior I wanted to encourage.

I don't mean to be a bitch. I just haven't seen someone here who supports the game, but is drawing a line in the sand that we know L&P will cross, and hates the development speed. Usually people are like "Yeah, I support the game. I love it. It'll be done when it's done. Meanwhile I have other things to keep me occupied."

I worked with a lot of projects that involves coding (Mobile, ML, Web, IoT) but never in adult games. The render handling part from what I can tell is done via graphical tools and depends a lot on the skills and experience on the person handling them. Answering all the other your questions: I am pretty sure after 6 years he should be able to choose what's more important to have an update ready. Im not saying he should half ass it.

The problem with this guy is that he claims his game to be an 'erotic', sensual novel. Basically, he finds all adjectives to justify the lack of sexual content (when comparing the time this game has been under development). Although, the game has routes since the early stages that contradicts those explanation, such are the routes with the sexual education, the janitor, the blackmail by the teenagers, routes that are specific to very hardcore porn. Therefore, the game contradicts his own words.

So, assuming he really intends to do an under the radar incest game with high quality, what exactly is high quality? The renders? The story? the sex scenes? the animations? Look, I already said this before, you don't see italians being portrayed as they are, he has no knowledge of how the mafia really works. He literally spent money buying gun 3D models, so a lot of italian guys can show heavy weapons to scare off little kids and small time thugs. If you have any kind of mafia movie knowledge, you know that's not how it works, so you can't say he's looking for realism in the story at least, so we have another contradiction here.

As you see above, perfection doesn't exist and is subjective. Whenever someone says they want to do something perfect is just an excuse to be slow and late, and it is exactly what is going on here. When you ask "But do you agree with me the premise of this project is always its meticulous details?" what details to refer to? If we nitpick more stuff around this game, we'll find a lot of flaws and mistakes. This game does have a very good visual, camera angle, filters and models. But, let's go back to the fabric touching scene, is that really perfection? You may be tempted to argue slow burn, but it isn't.

At this point of the thinking, we can imagine a X and Y graph with a curve where content is X and time is Y. At the middle point of the curve is where he needs to be, beyond that, more updates like this will happen, where time increases and content decreases, therefore turning into an increasing LINE.

As for your third point, I don't really feel you absorbed the entire point. The point being is that everyone releases 1.0a, 1.1b, 1.3c and so forth to fix small mistakes like that, therefore he has many ways to deal with them other spending a massive amount of time to fix them. Even then, you have that game Dreams of Desire that is also about incest, where it didn't even have animations, only two years after the game was completed the developer decided to remaster the game with animations. Take this game for example, you have part 1 where he was learning how to develop basically, now part 2 you have animations too. It looks positive to see that he's improving, but at the same time it shows quality inconsistency, because the simple fact he improved implies quality change, so how much details was there previously?

Green: I agree with you that not how mafias are in real life. What confuses everyone here is how LP defines realism. Like real life? Or just realer than other fictional works? Back to the word "high quality", im not an experienced developer, but from a gamers perspective, i think AWAM is high in quality, not in all respects, i know, but in many respects. Renders: Check( i havent seen more stunning games on this web). The story: Not flawless, but is invested much more than cheap ones on the market. Sex scenes: Idk, too few to value. In short, i do think awam is with high quality.
Purple: Yep perfection is illusion. But you know when someone says they wanna perfect a thing, maybe they are just implying they wanna do it as good as possible. And for ur question, the detail im talking about is everything in a render. The characters, stuff, looks far better than they are in other games. Again, i know awam itself is not perfect. So yep, touching fabric scene is stupid. But there couldve been more mistakes if the time had been reduced.
Yellow: I think what is causing the conflict here between LP and his fans is always how they look at AWAM. For his fans, this is a project, business, so he has to produce it more and more quickly, even drop quality. But for him, this is art. He considers himself as a novelist and has the right to be creative. I know this is not quite commensurate but do you know authors or novelists, they never care about the progress pace, they just wanna perform as best as they can, as much as theyre pleased in their works.
So i dont think whos right or wrong here, just different viewpoints.

The Yoga event was two playable days ago. If you chose the Alyssa event instead of the Yoga event that day, you wont get the Dylan/Marie content.

He didn't hire someone to help him with animations to speed up development. He's added animations to the game which is only slowing things down even further. Also, this dude doesn't have a name, never made himself known, L&P himself refers to him as "my animation helper" or "animator". If he had someone to create his animations, development wouldn't be affected like it's the case. But that's just my opinion.
