I'm sorry that I, of all people, have to be "that guy" who launches into lengthy explanations, but this line of reasoning in a piracy forum always irritates me.
I'll try to explain why the "slow progress" doesn't bother me at all: it costs me nothing, I get the stuff for free here. Complaining about freebies is something only idiots consider a suitable pastime, and I'm certainly no idiot.
Excuse me. I operated the teleprompter incorrectly. Let's start again. I'll try to explain why the "slow progress" doesn't bother me at all: The premise of AWAM is that the main character – and I dare to call the wife and mother the main character in a digital novel called "A Wife and Mother" – gradually sheds her shyness in dealing with teenagers' hormones. I assume you don't have children. If you do: How long would it take you to be ready to shag your own children? Less than eight months?
I get it: slow burn isn't your thing. You don't care that a credible (!) story, especially one as well-illustrated as AWAM, takes a lot of time (and certainly a lot of money for the main author) to create. You'd rather have less time-consuming wank material. But then I can't understand why you're still here. Has the story, despite all its trivialities, captivated you enough? It can't be just about sex fantasies; there's certainly more than enough "fan art" for AWAM, and I've already rubbed myself raw with that. So what exactly do you still want to speed up? What bothers you? The somewhat lifelike story, the elaborate pictures, the lack of bugs? I'd like to be able to understand your criticism. From one AWAM fan to another.
I don't mind a lengthy and reasonable explanation, except you're not quite addressing what you've quoted there.
Slow progress is one thing, but you're talking about a project with an estimated finish in 50 years. My response was towards a user who stated it'd be worth considering to support the developer financially over this update alone, so your freebie argument falls flat.
The argument of it taking longer than 8 months to "shag" ones children might be sound in theory, but you're once again missing the point. It's been 9ish years at this point. 9 years for not even 14 in-game days where the past 3 days took way longer than the 11 days prior. I'm all for a reasonable pace, but the issue goes all the way back to development time in regards to the whole project, not what Sophia's been doing this update in particular - or any other the past 9ish years. It's purely about unsustainable development time. Development time that's in a constant free fall, mind you.
No, you definitely do not get it. Slow burn is absolutely my thing. I can't stand fuckfest VN's without any logic behind the plot and it's character development. You wanna talk about money? Well, the developer's made roughly $100.000 within the 8 months this update was in development. It takes him alot of money to create? Maybe that would be the case had he ever followed up on his many Patreon goals and statements on hiring an artist to speed things up. But guess what? He never did. Even the "animations helper" was replaced by AI. If anything, he's cutting on all corners while making a fortune in the process - all the while getting slower to a point where 2025 had about 6 hours of in-game time in terms of progression. A couple hours or 20% of a single in-game day. That's the worst it's ever been.
Many people here are financial supporters. This website isn't just pirates complaining about free wank material - many users provide valid criticism, it's not just "shit game. dev sucks. he's a scammer", those comments I'd agree are shallow at best. Anyway... I feel like you entirely misunderstood what criticism I provided.
Cheers
