It can go either of 3 ways,

I hope all developers leave the censorious Patreon.
Don't think this would have been the reason as he promotes the game differently there and not to forget that he has been doing this shit there for so long. It's definitely has to do something with some angry patrons. Maybe someone with balls decided enough is enough and brought it to patreon's notice.
